I’ve grown more weary of the project. I have serious doubts on its viability and financing. I also think Ruiz is putting his efforts in the wrong space (albeit its not my place to say). I’m also currently fighting the parks committee in my home county for trying to build a stadium complex in...

I really don’t understand his fascination with a tropical park stadium rn. I can’t imagine he can really afford to be a major financer rn with his business issues. The school isn’t really pushing for it, and the county sure as **** isn’t. He seems to be putting to much attention into it instead...

To really understand how successful F1 is in Miami, have to look 4-5 years after premier imo. A lot of people will show up to something because it’s new.

That’s would make sense, it still leaves the actual historic part intact. The new housing and school make sense, fighting what seems to be a good redevelopment plan + fighting the historical designation make the site not suitable for a football stadium

Any idea if the redevelopment plan would include keeping the main building, cause that “could” comply with the preservation

Isn’t that place protected for historic preservation

If we stay predicting unrealistic stadium sites, I claim the middle school across US-1

I mean all of Miami is a traffic nightmare, too many cars with little public transit. Plus 90% of Miami drivers shouldn’t have a license. Your not wrong tho, a packed theoretical tropical park would cause a gridlock that’d last till daybreak

Spring game is nothing more than a televised practice imo, could be played in ******* Quebec for all I care

I cede the point of football standing not being empty and being used. Having one for us only would still be a misappropriation of land imo. And for spring football I don’t really think it’s a big deal. It’s a ******* spring game Edit: for extra events in Miami, still think it would be a hard...

Sofi and AT&T are PRIME venues, this would be a college football stadium, the amenities would likely be 2nd the hard rock.

I took it more as applied to the construction of the stadium. Not a whole lot of demand coupled with it being generally a bad ROI investment, plus in Miami it probably won’t get a lot of public financing. Also UM itself won’t be owning the stadium, we gotta rent no matter what

I would specifically particularly football stadiums. Downtown stadiums for basketball and hockey can typically be used for other events like concerts, events, and smaller sports. Football stadiums don’t really have a lot of use outside of the season

The stop at hard rock was already in the proposal, so we wouldn’t be requesting anything that would be a major cost. The only thing I’d propose is a express train that bypasses most stops. All we’d be doing is piggybacking on the project...

For the northern corridor, it runs down the middle of 27th. The right of way is already there in form of the suicide lane. Only problem is a bridge over the expressway. It would cost abt 1.2bil is public money, and yes it’s controversial. But it’s much more feasible and less controversial than a...

It’s not just us using the train line, also the plan has already been proposed. I’m proposing the northern corridor expansion for the metro up 27th ave. I just think they university should campaign for the track (if they haven’t already), and try and get a game day express train between...

Any stadium development for UM will have to be entirely financed by the private sector, specially after the marlins park disaster. Will cost billions+ limited available land + coral gables will block any development within their limits. Also just look at UM’s demographics, that’s a PR disaster...

Not a ******* chance. Site would take extremely valueable land near the station, in single family home area. Absolute traffic nightmare situation off US-1. Plus land is much more valueable slicing up and developing up. Also would take up the site of a decently large current affordable housing...

I would say students is a level two priority, considering the stadium is supposed to tailor to the university. But there isn’t much more the university can provide. I mean they already get free tickets, free shuttle, a free water, point system. Only thing they could do to get more students is...
