Any idea if the redevelopment plan would include keeping the main building, cause that “could” comply with the preservation
It looks like it's not the actual main building.

Last year, Prestige paid $13.7 million for a 13.1-acre vacant lot in an unused portion of Hialeah Park race track. The developer plans to build a 343-unit apartment complex and a charter school.

That’s would make sense, it still leaves the actual historic part intact.

The new housing and school make sense, fighting what seems to be a good redevelopment plan + fighting the historical designation make the site not suitable for a football stadium

For the Canes who believe Miami needs its own stadium, which is the preferred option?

A. "On campus" (i.e., in or near Coral Gables)

B. Somewhere more "centrally located" for UM's fan base in SoFla?

An on campus stadium is a complete impossibility. Therefore any other campus will still be laughed at by other fan bases, just without the adjective "rental".

Isn't a Tropical Park site being passed off as the next-best thing by folks who think an "on campus" stadium is the way to go?

Or is that no longer a thing?
That's still 2.5 miles from campus.
Just for the youngins here:

Rule #1: DGAF what Noles and Gators say or "think"

Rule #2: See Rule #1
What other reason is there to insist the stadium be on campus?

It’s the closet area that could support it but logistically it’s a terrible location. Can you imagine that log jam with bird road, us 1 and the highway exit funneling in? It would need a lot of transportation options.
