Ask Geno Smith, who raves about Dawson as a QB coach and playcaller…. I’ll lean the way of every QB on the roster is ***. TVD was taking deep shots every game until he started completing more to teams with different color jerseys. GT gave EVERYONE the gameplan for TVD and he never recovered.

I know Mario meddled with the offense mid season but he had to. TVD was a liability, it had to happen. Lashlee got out at the right time, prob doesn’t get HC job if he hitched his wagon to TVD before the film caught up

You do realize TVD averaged 37 attempts per game vs P5 opponents this year right? If not for a massive amount of TOs chances are he throws the ball over 40 times a game. Last year Mario let TVD throw the ball 41 times vs A&M, 57(!!) times vs UNC and 46 vs VT before he got hurt.

I know the offense we watched first 4/5 games of the year was far different than the offense we watched second half of the year…. That tells me they lost faith (rightfully so) in QB. Tried to take the decision making out of TVDs hands. IF Dawson gets his QB, all bets are off on how the offense...

Think this is due to Mario’s DNA. Which is the same reason I’ve said the 2025 & 2026 classes will be amazing (if we don’t suck). Mario is relentless and builds relationships, definitely plays the long game. Portal is different in the sense of 1) you don’t have months/years to personally build...

Contender to me is making playoffs (12 team format) & possibly winning ACC. Ward can get us 10+ wins with what we got. KJ? We will be in some close games, and it’s a coin flip with Mario in close games. So there’s some doubt.

Sure, you can have your personal faves. I think KJ would be better than TVD and most QBs we’ve had in past decade or so… the difference is KJ is to King as Ward is to Hurts. KJ keeps Miami competitive, Ward makes Miami a contender. It would definitely be considered striking out if KJ is our guy...
