Don’t we need as many good players as possible at every position, with the historical understanding that a few will wash out for one reason or another?

In Spafford, Evans and Wingo we have (3) 4 star receivers. History tells us 1-2 will excel and 1-2 will not. But if we only have 1-2 overall, or only 1-2 with that talent level, we have to hit on each player, and that is highly unlikely unless you are Butch Davis.

So rather than be upset about why Wingo isn’t perfect, doesn’t it make more sense to say that the talent he adds to the WR room means that we have dramatically increased the likelihood that 1-2 receivers from the class of ‘26 will be impactful at UM. AND, NO ONE definitively knows who will succeed and who will not. It’s not as easy as the most talented person wins, because there are so many examples of when this did not occur.
You are exactly right. DMoney series on our past draft classes is an excellent example that we have no clue who will end up being impactful and an NFL player (we need both in the worst way).

stack as much 4 star talent that we can find and let the ones who have the talent and work ethic rise to the top.

my take is hes not a back up. I dont think we ever really wanted Russell but played the game. its not like Cooper who we want.
I think we wanted for Russell and then moved on. Keys is a take regardless and we will pay big for him.
I feel the same way without much more than just reading through the lines… Keys is your plus one take regardless of who you have. The three we have was probably always the the combination we wanted with maybe Lopez who didn’t want to be a plan B or be in such a heavy WR class (3 or 4)

Russell seems like he wanted guarantees and we weren’t wanting to make them when he’s so back and forth with his time he puts to football and bball

I prefer a tough, physical guy over a skinny guy who really wants to play basketball. Might be wrong.
Exactly. This dude is literally fighting through contact on multiple big catches with PI flags everywhere.

Breaking tackles.

Towers over every CB that lined up against him.

Has decent looking set up movement, especially leading in to out on go routes.

But he’s not good enough for us 🤣

Wait I never said he was my height at 6"3 I said he's right there with me, But I'm saying close to me maybe 6"2 but he does have dreadlocks so maybe that distorts it a bit. Regardless he'll be by the house at soon as I touch back down. I'll ask him them but for now I'll let him enjoy his moment.

Pretty crazy all 3 WR commits are not from South FL, and Wingo is a c-hair away from being out of state himself, which would make all 3 out of state
But is it??

We got lucky to get some of the local kids we have recently got in Toney and Jojo, but I thought we have always struggled with local wrs and dbs.

Alright guys, enough of the infighting, for those of you doubting his talents your insane, ive coach this kid since his pop warner days, he was my qb at that time. He wanted to quit football as a kid but I wouldn't let him. Now look where we are thank God. The kid is one of the most athletic players you will find point blank period. He will be a match up nightmare trust me. And for the people that think he's 6"1 he's definitely not, I'm 6"3 and he's right there with me. If you guys read any of my other post, I mentioned on him, he's good friends with Bryson Wright and was being pushed to Miami by him to because he loves UM. he will be a way tougher pull because of his father. Oh and his dad was a nole BTW. But his dad will send him to the place to develop him first and foremost. It will not come down to money with Bryson at all. Purely development.

Any chance Brysen reclassifies? If he is class of 2028 and is ALREADY at the (per 247) listed height/weight as a sophomore...good lord, he is pushing into Jeremiah Smith territory as far as having a "built-for-the-NFL" frame straight out of high school. Clearly, there are other factors to evaluate too, but at that size, he seems like he could skip a year of high school on just the physical development level of readiness...
