If you mean out-of-state players, these were a few other decent ones:

James Lewis was a decent S from NJ that Butch brought in...

Howard Clark was a top-ranked LB out of NJ, Leon Williams the #2 LB in the country out of Brooklyn Canarsie, Chris Campbell was a solid LB for us out of TX...

These players were all during the Butch era.

Going back 20 years gets us into the 90s - we had some others from TX and LA during that time that were decent, but I don't feel like looking into it...

Someone can refresh my memory but in the last 15-20 years other than Ed Reed what DB did we sign that was a stud here.Same with LB DJ and Mcintosh are the only 2 standouts I can remember. We really don't need to leave the state at these 2 positions. Now DT we definetely need to steal one from Georgia,Louisiana or nationally every year.

LOL,of course I meant out of state players the last 20 years at DB and LB.You just made my point when you mention Clark and Lewis as the best we've signed other than the 3 I said.both were role players here, nothing more.Again I'm talking last 20 years and all we can come up is a couple guys. All our studs are from instate.

Banda exploiting his soFla roots for recruiting purposes.....eh....uh...wait, what?

So much for having to hire folks with soFla roots.
Exactly. Bunch of clowns with their "South Florida ties" rhetoric. If you're an energetic, enthusiastic, charismatic dude like Panda you can recruit anywhere. I knew he'd be a mega recruiter by reading how much the Miss State players loved and vouched for him.

We can fill our roster almost entirely with florida kids, amd probably should. QBs you can take from wherever. Now and then you have to branch out for an OL or DL. But skill positions, LBs, DBs -- can find them locally all day every day. And the more local kids we take, the more we raise the cost of hunting in so fla for other programs. And the more we build bridges locally that pay dividends. Ultimately, you take a non-local kid if he's elite or it's a need spot and you have to. But heavy florida is the way to go, and don't tell me about the '80s. It ain't the '80s. Times have changed. We should play to our strength. And recruiting locally means less travel for the staff anyhow, which should be a better model. They can cover way more kids in so fla than nationally.

Correct. You don't spend a ton of time looking for oranges in Ohio when you have a perfect orange tree in your backyard.

Great news across the board.

I notice Banda is doing all Rumph's work for him.

Shawn Davis should be a cane soon

I was gonna touch something on this again.

From one of his teammates at Southridge, I was told earlier this week that it was a done deal he was committing at junior day but they had 7on7 in Orlando.

I was told Robert Bailey went to school with his mom as well, he is also in the family's ear about Miami.

Shawn Davis will be making a visit back to Miami in March so keep your eyes peeled.

He also won defensive MVP in Orlando this weekend at adidas elite 12.
