Those guys (Muhammad and Grace) failed their brothers...no excuse for this! It's borderline disrespectful as well. They no longer exist to me. And just like the guy in my avatar, Richt needs to focus solely on the dudes that want to be here.
This
This should have been taken care of much sooner. That's my gripe. The punishments may have been overkill but that's the chance you take.

Thats why richt was ****ed friday. They waited a week before the season to make a decision.

This serves as a reminder that just because they signed Richt...we shouldn't all begin to act like we STILL don't have the worst ****ing administration in the country.

I'm not even kidding. I've sat in on more board meetings for various large organizations than I can remember over the years and I'd be willing to bet every dollar I have to my name that the ****ing morons calling the shots at the University of Miami are easily the most clueless bunch of decision makers that have ever been assembled to make decisions within an NCAA program.

They hired a new coach...but what Frenk REALLY needs to do is clean house everywhere else within the program. The root of problem that has dragged this program down for the last 10-15 years is still there and just waiting for another opportunity to **** this up for us again.

Yup, it's like Shalala never left.

While I'm perpetually annoyed at UM's constant use of "outside" entities for decision making, the delay in action has to also be heavily attributed to at minimum the 3 dismissed players more than likely lying about the true details here or being too late in coming clean. We can gripe about the overreaction all we want but these kids clearly put themselves in a situation where a reaction was required and they **** well knew the environment in which the reaction would be levied. A new staff with a somewhat new administration within a program already under scrutiny equals a situation where you're possibly going to be made an example of. I hope they at least got some *** from pretending to be ballers with the rental bling.
While I agree with your premise somewhat, it has to be noted that Pete on Twitter yesterday said that if it were only up to Richt, none of these guys would've been kicked off the team.

Ohhhh, I don't think it's necessarily fair (as Richt's punishment would have been) but I just don't feel sorry for them or am willing to go ape$hit in anger toward the school for their course of action. The players' stupidity and immaturity created the situation that allowed for the overreaction so I'm tempered in getting too heated that we deferred to outside counsel about being over cautious in trying to stay in the good graces of the clearly hypocritical NCAA.

:q3XKXeX:

what about so-called fans who prey on these athletes? you all are effing ridiculous if you think the admin comes to work every day with any intention other than helping kids to succeed while protecting the integrity of the institution. These athletes were irresponsible and egregious in their judgment, and clearly lacking in maturity. And that car company should be ashamed of themselves as well. too bad you can't start a campaign to shut them down.

I'm really nervous about coley. We lose him we're in big trouble.

Compliance better not suspend Coley late into the season, I understand being cautious because of probation, but anything more than a 1 game suspension would be total bullsh*t. And if they're going to do anything, it better be before we play GTech.
Anything more than that, and they're clearly trying to sabotage this team.

please outline the underlying facts around Coley's involvement and the basis for this one game suspension

we are all very nervous about Coley and clearly you have the inside track from the grassy knoll
From previous posts, Coley accepted rides from the guilty parties but did not directy participate. Sounds strange but that is what has been reported. Not offering an opinion, just repeating another post.

The problem with losing Grace is he is the prototypical nickel LB. Big enough to play the run and fast enough to cover almost anyone on the other team. BIG loss IMO. AQM is easily replaceable if you ask me. We have plenty of athletic big boys that can go get the QB.

He's a football coach tasked with winning games and he's getting paid decent coin to do it.
Of course he's supposed to be ****ed.
But that's irrelevant to the big picture.

I feel really bad for AQM and Grace. Yes the car thing is dumb, but like Pete said it usually would be a couple game suspension.

These are 2 guys that committed to Miami when we had "the cloud", and no one knew what the fallout from the NCAA investigation was going to be, and came anyways. They could have gone anywhere, but they came here.

It feels like AQM/Grace stood by Miami when it was a tough time for the school, but the school didn't stand by AQM/Grace when things got tough for them.

The amount of ****** in this thread, even from Pete, is eye opening.

Yeah, I feel like the scumbag at the car rental company trying to get a % of future earnings from these kids down the line in exchange for the occasional use of 1998 Dodge Viper actually isn't taking enough heat around here. Kinda seems like people are just assuming he was some jocksniffer looking to hookup some players instead of what he is- some local scumbag looking (stupidly as it rarely actually happens) for a payday down the line. Kinda makes me feel better about beating the **** out of every rental car I've ever had.

So which precinct of the Keystone Kops did they hire as the outside entity? If you are going to ***** around this long and know the issue is the probation, you hold AQM and Grace in "suspension awaiting investigation completion" hold (still practice) and roll the dice with Coley. Come the day after VTech, you complete the investigation, state they did do something wrong, but have Lou Freeh on the payroll to state "No reasonable prosecuter would ask for additional games suspended, it should be time served" and have AQM and Grace ask for an expedited ruling from the NCAA.

You get a fresh AQM and Grace back for five crucial (maybe six if the power goes out in Blacksburg and it's postponed to Saturday) games, they still get their senior days in front of family and friends, as oppossed to being a drag on recruiting ("You see how UM threw their players on the bus, come play for us in _______), and Richt is looked as being in touch, not out of touch.

***** you again Blake James, fly the freaking banner, he is still playing checkers!

Yes, and the good folks at the NCAA would not even notice how slick UM was in handling it in
that matter.
SMFH.

That's the problem, we don't recognize the NCAA for the adversary they are, we keep trying this "Well if we do it this way, it will be the way the NCAA wanted it and they will like it." Yeah, that works about as well as one of those weak bully prevention programs in grade school.

Make the NCAA have to work and bring up Perez again and again. Heck, use twitter sock puppets to show in Emmert's NCAA, rapes and their coverups, child molesting and even dog beatings are all okay but black guys driving nice cars is a mortal sin. You use well placed stories and exaggerated public outrage as force multipliers to magnify Emmert's buffoonery. Get control of the narrative first and stop being stripped pants diplomats from Foggy Bottom, instead be Special Ops from the Emerald Coast.

"My question continues to be why did it take so long for this to get figured out? Coaches did not know the verdict until late Thursday. It’s hard to know how aggressive the investigation was from the start, but I don’t understand how something the school has known about for months is not resolved until a week before the season."

1. Due diligence
2. Due process

These situations and decisions are delicate and can't be rushed. We are currently under probation folks!

More reason why they should not have done this!
They knew what the school just went thorough.
They could have done anything else! Like another poster said they could have even stolen the cars.
The one thing they should know not to do is accept benifits.

grace i feel bad for but AQM should have been the most well behaved kid we have. he has had issues in past and should have been focused on making most out of his opportunity.

Yea i really feel bad for the kid never really had issues in the past
