If you are a student athlete, and you violate Bylaw 10.1 (Unethical Conduct, which includes "(a) Refusal to furnish information relevant to an investigation of a possible violation of an NCAA regulation when requested to do so by the NCAA or the individual’s institution," among other things), you will not be reinstated after being found to be ineligible. That is a black and white rule.

There's been way too much BS info posted about this matter, and way too many tantrums thrown by posters. Time to move on. Get over it.

All the idiots will ignore this because they're bent on tantrumming. They've ignored everything I've tried to teach them on this subject. They come alive when they see a chance to dump on UM, as most of them have no real ties to the school.

This. Dapper is the most even-handed, informed poster on this site when it comes to compliance issues. This is about as simple as it gets. Yet, we have idiots on here not only suggesting that the kids should lie, but that UM sold them out because it did not look past the players' lies and inconsistencies and try to bury the violations to which they relate.

Thanks for the compliment. I posted that under the impression that both students were ruled ineligible, then lied. It may be that Grace, based on certain things his attorney said, was not ruled ineligible before he lied or wasn't forthcoming. In that circumstance, then the violation is the lie itself - the determination of the penalty for a Bylaw 10.1 violation starts at sitting out a whole season and being charged a season of eligibility. There may be aggravating/mitigating circumstances, but the default punishment for violating Bylaw 10.1 (which Grace's attorney openly admitted Grace violated) is sitting out a whole season.

For all of those people saying the punishment doesn't fit the crime, please just give it a rest. We do not know the extent of the "crime," but we know (because his lawyer specifically said it) that Grace did not comply with Bylaw 10.1 when first questioned. Even if that's all he did (and I wouldn't feel comfortable making that assumption), the default punishment is sitting out a whole season. Now explain to me how the punishment didn't fit the crime...

He has not been ruled ineligible and has release papers to go to any school of his choosing. UM also has nothing to report to the NCAA on either players. This means no proof was provided that any rules or NCAA violations took place. So why are they kicked off the team?

This serves as a reminder that just because they signed Richt...we shouldn't all begin to act like we STILL don't have the worst ****ing administration in the country.

I'm not even kidding. I've sat in on more board meetings for various large organizations than I can remember over the years and I'd be willing to bet every dollar I have to my name that the ****ing morons calling the shots at the University of Miami are easily the most clueless bunch of decision makers that have ever been assembled to make decisions within an NCAA program.

They hired a new coach...but what Frenk REALLY needs to do is clean house everywhere else within the program. The root of problem that has dragged this program down for the last 10-15 years is still there and just waiting for another opportunity to **** this up for us again.

So where did the administraton mess up in this situation?
Please elaborate.

Let's look at a little history. Pell Grant scandal was caused by a drug ridden salaried member of the administration, not a coach. Since some football players got grants, it became a NCAA thing. Other students got them also but nobody cared. The entire thing was more the fault of the administration than sports. But the administration is part of the NCAA so it did not get punished -- that is not how the system works.

Next comes the little midget deal. The administration got much more money than all the players combined. Who got punished? Randy told everyone that the dude was bad news and to stay away from him. AD, an administrator, berates him for not playing the game. Donna had photo op taking illegal money. Players, suspensions and repayment; Randy, fired and has to sue for his buy out; Donna allowed to retire with full benefits for a cushy new job at, where else, The Clinton Family Slush fund.

The administration does not merely mishandle these matters in way that are major college athletics malpractice, but has actually been, at the very least, at the center of two of the biggest scandals in NCAA history. Maybe they handled this one to perfection but their history demands they be considered guilty until proven otherwise -- there really is no reason to doubt it. The excuse that THEY are still under probation is funny. Kind of like a con out on probation running over a cop because he would have his probation violated if he got caught speeding.

Do you work for Miami Compliance Medley? Because you sure do seem to be drinking the cool aide. The point is these young men did not seem to know they could lose their eligibility by not being truthful to Miami compliance hence you would want them to have legal consul present for them to help guide the athlete to telling their story so they wouldn't lose their eligibility.

I'm fairly certain that I read that compliance educates the players all through out the year.

So your saying an athlete should know every single bylaw at all times as well as a legal consular should?

Well yes. I think they should be familiar with anything that could put their scholarship in jeopardy.
But that's JMO.
Even alegrbra?

LOL. You ignore Dapper Slapper, who knows exactly what he's talking about on this subject. And you quote a troll, who is on his 15th screen name and is clearly making **** up.

I guess we should expect to see AQM and Grace playing FBS football soon. Maybe they already graduated so they can enroll immediately elsewhere and not even sit out this season.

Why are you avoiding a simple question? Young is enrolled in school at Marshall. He has never been ruled ineligible. Grace and AQM have release papers to go to any school they choose and we're never ruled ineligible.

When ruled ineligible, a student athlete can't transfer to any other school to plays sports. Take Ray Ray Armstrong for example. He was denied entrance into Faulkner University.

These players were dismissed with their eligibility so it is fair to question what is going on. We all Love our University but they have some explaining to do. Many of us are tired of playing a different game from every other University

Its crazy how far these fake UM fb fans are going to try and justify kicking two of our best defensive players off the ***n team, a week before the season starts, and didn't commit an NCAA violation, or a ****n illegal crime?? Oh yeah they lied to compliance?? Lol gtfoh

Just admit this school is a backstabbing pos university, you all should be on the side with those who are trying to figure out why such an extreme punishment was handed out, when no other school in the country would've done the same??

But its easy to just say AQM is a thug and move on right ;-)

Who said AQM is a thug?
By the way, no school graduates as many football athletes and sends as many to the NFL combined, and this doesn't include the many NFLers and NBA ballers who are invited to come to the UM to finish off their education (many of whom were neverbCanes)....not bad for a racist backstabbing program.

I may be Wrong... but my interpretation is that officially UM told them that they couldn't play. NOT the NCAA. Therefore - technically they have eligibility if they were to transfer to an FBS school. I don't think Young is eligible to play this year. Dapper may be able to answer better.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha you believe they didn't commit an NCAA violation?

All this they should've known better crap is just bs / of course they knew better and did the **** anyway like when it comes to everybody that has made bad choices bc its fun or feels good....

That bs means nothing, the school should've had their backs and didn't / which is what UM is known for through out the history of the fb program.

So they did wrong knowing that it can hurt the school and their teammates but the school is wrong for not having their backs? The same school that is still paying for their housing and education even though they are gonna do anything for the school on the field anymore. Whose backs were AQM and Grace covering?

Lol paying for their housing and education is the least this snake *** school can do since theg gave them no time to transfer and play at another school??

As far as ur first point goes / everybody that does something "wrong" knows what they're doing so ur point is invalid its how you're going to address it from that point. What "they did wrong" is bs bc thry didnt do anything wrong,

The rental car shop said they had family members that covered the expense, the end. / either way you wanna go with it, the school is the one to blame for all of this bc they're a bunch of back stabbing bxtches.

Why the **** do you root for such a racist school? What kind of self-loathing faux-black guy are you that you would actively root for a team that treats its black players like property?

My read would be that UM ran the specifics by the NCAA who told them if you dismiss these guys we won't do our own, multi year investigation and **** up your recruiting for the foreseeable future. My FURTHER read is that UM felt there was enough wrongdoing that they were going to get beat down pretty hard if the NCAA investigated. Obviously I don't know any more than the rest of you clowns, but at least my story makes a little bit of sense, unlike thinking the players didn't do anything wrong and UM just hates itself.

UM kicked them out. They can go where they want just like Ray Ray could. Problem is their cases will follow them just like Ray Ray's did. No one wanted him because of the case he brought with him.

UM can't rule the players ineligible for all of college football. They made their determination and they kicked them out based on their consult with the NCAA before the NCAA officially ruled them ineligible.

UM also made a determination that Gayot wasn't fit physically to play football. Didn't mean some other program couldn't take a chance on him.

As for Young, he's not playing for Marshall this year. So you have no idea what penalty he's going to face in the future. AQM and Grace can remain at UM on scholarship too just like Young is on scholarship at Marshall.

You have no clue how Young's eligibility to play football in the future will be impacted. Maybe Marshall will ignore the impermissible benefits he received and his admitted lying during the investigation (which is an automatic 1 year loss of eligibility according to NCAA rule) and hope the NCAA forgets Young exists by next season.

Just pretend they both went back in time and entered the NFL draft or pretend they both suffered season ending knee injuries in training camp.

It will make you feel better.

Who are we kidding. Dirty sprite reeks of gaytor or semenhole.
He is reaching platinum troll status. Full caricature of what those fan bases think a UM fan is.

Richt said this morning that Miami was looking into the rental car thing before he even got here. So this wasn't going on for just a couple months.

Maaaaaaaaaaaan I love Dapper but him coming back just sends me a rush of all the bad feelz from yapiro!
