If I had a recruit. Kids make mistakes. I would want administration to help them navigate through their mistakes. A mistake like this, why would they not tell them this is what we need to do to get you eligible. There is always a way. Every other top 25 team in the nation does it. And make it look legal or is legally justified . I mean if a kid continues to ***** up then you boot him.

I'll just leave you all with this.

The NCAA is currently one of the most corrupt organizations from top to bottom. Starting with Mark Emmert, who has left a trail of thuggery and illegal activity everywhere he has been. This is why he was chosen as the President of the NCAA. They do not pick outstanding citizens to do this kind of job.

Now having said this, how can any of you be okay with these criminals having the audacity to judge these kids when they themselves should be behind bars for all of the illegal **** that they allow at their discretion. Hypocrisy at its finest.

When the inmates are running the asylum, which is what the NCAA has been doing for far too long, then there is no "fair" shake to be had.

I guess all of you defending the Admin missed the part in the article just posted on Facebook where Richt spoke about the punishment handed down. In the article it states that the U worked closely with an independent firm that has very close ties to the NCAA, as well as with the compliance department. This puts a huge hole in your argument that the NCAA had nothing directly to do with this.

Basically, the NCAA and Emmert said bend over and the Admin obliged as usual and told them thanks for not using Vaseline in the process.

Richt felt very sad for AQM and Grace and says that while being kept in the loop that he had no voice in the final decision.

Do any of you really think that Nicky Satan or Urban Cryer have no say in who gets dismissed from their teams. If you believe this, I have a bridge in San Francisco that I'd love to sell you.

So we should seceded from the ncaa??

All this they should've known better crap is just bs / of course they knew better and did the **** anyway like when it comes to everybody that has made bad choices bc its fun or feels good....

That bs means nothing, the school should've had their backs and didn't / which is what UM is known for through out the history of the fb program.

So they did wrong knowing that it can hurt the school and their teammates but the school is wrong for not having their backs? The same school that is still paying for their housing and education even though they are gonna do anything for the school on the field anymore. Whose backs were AQM and Grace covering?

Lol paying for their housing and education is the least this snake *** school can do since theg gave them no time to transfer and play at another school??

As far as ur first point goes / everybody that does something "wrong" knows what they're doing so ur point is invalid its how you're going to address it from that point. What "they did wrong" is bs bc thry didnt do anything wrong,

The rental car shop said they had family members that covered the expense, the end. / either way you wanna go with it, the school is the one to blame for all of this bc they're a bunch of back stabbing bxtches.

Why the **** do you root for such a racist school? What kind of self-loathing faux-black guy are you that you would actively root for a team that treats its black players like property?

Who are we kidding. Dirty sprite reeks of gaytor or semenhole.
He is reaching platinum troll status. Full caricature of what those fan bases think a UM fan is.

I know, but dude's troll game is tight. I keep promising myself I'll ignore the next moronic thing he says, but it's real hard.

First off, this was not AQMs first "mistake". Remember when he "mistakenly" beat the snot out of his roommate? As for the others, this is still a big, ongoing violation. They didn't except one meal, they excepted thousands of dollars worth of rental car use which they were unable to satisfactorily explain. This isn't the kind of thing you pay back and sit out a game over. maybe other schools do this stuff, but then they aren't Miami are they? Bama has friends. Fsu has friends. As a wise man once said, everybody hates us cause we're from the U.

A) The delay was likely an attempt to keep them on the team. A quick decision would only have ended in dismissal.
B) In this case and for the sake of the program, you err on the side of caution. There are plenty of people out there who want to see the UM program go away altogether.

i suggest we have a minimum age, IQ and life experience factor before allowing members to post. it would weed out a lot of the stupid commentaries about this entire subject matter.

I feel really bad for AQM and Grace. Yes the car thing is dumb, but like Pete said it usually would be a couple game suspension.

These are 2 guys that committed to Miami when we had "the cloud", and no one knew what the fallout from the NCAA investigation was going to be, and came anyways. They could have gone anywhere, but they came here.

It feels like AQM/Grace stood by Miami when it was a tough time for the school, but the school didn't stand by AQM/Grace when things got tough for them.

More reason why they should not have done this!
They knew what the school just went thorough.
They could have done anything else! Like another poster said they could have even stolen the cars.
The one thing they should know not to do is accept benifits.

It's not even close to the same thing as stealing the cars. They didn't steal anything, get a DUI, hit a girl, etc. They didn't break any laws.

Yes it was dumb, but NFL caliber kids make this mistake all the time.

At Georgia - Gurley took $3k for autographs and got 4 games. AJ Green sold his jersey for $1k to an agent and got 4 games.

When the Shapiro suspensions were handed out, 8 Miami players got between 1 and 6 game suspensions.

I don't feel what AQM & Grace did was any worse, so I feel bad their missing their entire Senior years.

Yup, but from my perspective imagining the guys who attempt to justify bad behavior by pointing to the bad behavior of others before a judge in court is always amusing! ;-)

Seems like you missed the point.
Just so you know stealing, getting a DUI, or hitting a girl are not ncaa issues.
They are university issues. They become ncaa issues if the university is proven to not follow its own rules.

Since you're so clear on this you must know the exact amount of the impermissible benefits Grace received. Please share that so we can compare it to other cases.

Also please educate the rest of us on why the mandatory loss of eligibility associated with the NCAA bylaw on lying during investigations doesn't apply here.

No excuse for this to drag out this long, them for the hammer to drop a week before the season.

This school and compliance should be ashamed of themselves for dragging a**.

If you're going to kick them out do it in spring, let Miami have months to prepare without them, let them find another school.

Who was the outside consultant group , the South Florida Seminole booster club?

It's bad enough we have a Florida gator and Pittsburgh Panther running the compliance department.

This entire situation is a gigantic cluster that would have NEVER happened at ANY other school America!

Its like the last 10 years... always the August Bombshell

We can fight thru this, Losing Coley will hurt.. I think he is close to being suspended as well

Gibson didn't get dismissed from his team, but he just go suspended for the year. Urban said he didn't agree with the decision. Kinda takes the wind out of your sails on that one.

"We can talk about this all we want," Richt said. "The bottom line is I think we need to be talking more about the rest of the team because that's who's going to show up on Saturday night and play ball. It is what it is. It's happened. It's something that we've got to deal with. But there's attrition in football."

Good leadership!

You realize some of these cars go for about a thousand a day? Who knows how much money we're talking about here. Certainly more than Gurley or Green.

I have no idea on the amounts and details, or what Grace & AQM said the the NCAA, or what the exact NCAA rules are.

I know that the reported values of Green = $1k/4 games, Vernon = $1,200/6 games, Gurley = $3k/4 games - seems inconsistent. This ruling also seems inconsistent, overly harsh, and I feel bad for both of them.

I feel sorry for them, not bad for them. Idiots threw away millions and possibly their NFL aspirations to drive around in a Bentley.
