I don’t think it’s as simple as go out and win games, and you’ll change their minds. That’s the samething we thought last year lol
It’s such bs bruh I been saying it for years yet these retards are still retarded. And this is coming from someone who doesn’t consider himself smart. Yet these people still believe this sh, when it’s been proven time and time again wins don’t mean success at recruiting. It just doesn’t. It’s a nice “coach talk pitch” but that’s it. It’s something you say in a conversation to kids when you recruit them, that’s it. It doesn’t mean sh, it’s nice to get a conversation going to a recruit and for him to repeat it to reporters for fans to eat it up.

Agree. The whole "just win games" mantra is foolhardy and naive. We just won 10+ games with a historic offense and we can't land a WR1 to save our lives....still. It is not just "win games" - there are other components at play.
We need to look good while winning. Even though we won 10 games last year, we still didn't look like a good football team in several games. We were out coached in most of our games. Recruits and their parents have eyeballs and see that stuff.

Can we look good while winning 9 games? Honest question

Justin Scott, Armondo Blount, Jordan Lyle, Mark Fletcher, Hayden Lowe. We just flipped Vance Spafford from Georgia.

Now, it goes both ways. We were on the wrong side of the flips late in the 2025 class. So we’ll see.
Yes we might get one blue chip guy to flip in November or December but is that what we're banking the class on

Spafford is the #9 WR in the country. I'd bet Restrepo's success had a lot to do with that flip from Georgia.

Last year's improvement gave us some momentum. As of now, we have the #7-ranked class and the #3-ranked Portal class. We also retained high-value players and suffered very few losses. There aren't many teams doing well in all three phases. Part of the reason is Canes Connection. Mario is also a uniquely relentless recruiter.

But there are levels. Teams like Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama and Texas have better brands to sell right now, on top of having money. We need to keep building our brand back up. Missing the playoffs and stumbling into signing day didn't help.

Consistent winning takes our brand to another level. We need to get it done.

we have a great roster, need to keep winning on the field and developing guys into first and second day picks

Mario has shown he’s going to acquire talent to stack a roster whether it’s HS or through the portal

The biggest question mark is can he win big and beat who he is supposed to

The Bank:

“I can see Miami getting Cooper, Kolojay, Turner, and Stewart done soon”

As always, the success of the program will be determined by the success on the field.

Should have won the ACC last year. HAVE to win it now this year.

Not winning the ACC and making the playoffs last year after the start they had was an embarrassment.

So far with his tenure at Miami the answer is no but this year he needs to beat ND and FL. I believe we have the players to accomplish that if our head coach makes the right decisions during each game.

We had the best offense in the country = we looked really good. By that formula, WRs, etc should be lining up to play for us.

To be fair, we had top10 portal classes in 2024(9th) and 2025 (3rd), 7th-ranked class in 2023 and 4th-ranked class in 2024. Our class ranking in 2025 is not an indication of the impact that class will likely have in the coming years

When we start to produce quality NFL talent and win, we'll consistently get the top 5 high school classes

Don’t get me wrong I’m not suggesting we haven’t stepped up

But last year the entire defense was a disaster I wouldn’t say we’ve stacked talent when one side of the ball was a liability

If we wanna start talking this upcoming roster I think it’s solid but none of us expected last years disaster on defense either so I’ll hold off

On paper (emphasis on this), this is the most talented roster we've had in a while, so it's unfair to say Mario hasn't brought in talent. This is a massive year for the staff. From a development standpoint, they need to hit on some of these guys in the 23 and 24 classes. That doesn't mean these guys show some flashes here and there; we need them to have huge seasons. A perfect example is the dline. There is too much talent in that room not to be one of the more productive rooms in the country

OR - If our HC leaves the decision making to Dawson and Hetherman during games…
