Imagine the vitriol from those toothless nouveau riche hillbillies!!
I'm imagining some 42-year-old man with a growing bald spot and a loveless marriage getting *this close* to dropping a hard R on Dawgs247. His swivel desk chair is gasping for help under his weight, and the sound of that shriek echoes through all 5,634 square feet of his soulless McMansion in who-the-****-cares neighborhood of Cherokee County, GA.

You’ve been the only one consistently bringing up Adidas when it comes to Keys since his very first visit months ago. Why do you think the Adidas angle plays such a big role in his recruitment compared to other high school athletes? Historically, it hasn’t seemed to matter much. Even this cycle, Miami’s pushing hard for Tyler Atkinson (who’s also with Adidas), and he’s only visiting Nike schools.

Plus, any NIL deal he gets directly from Adidas is likely pennies compared to what schools will offer both on and off record. So I’m really curious: do you think Keys is just wired differently, or is there something unique about his connection to Adidas that’s actually influencing this more than we typically see? And if Tennessee ends up making the switch to Adidas, how do you think that shifts the dynamic?
I think it would help Tennessee. Texas A&M is also an Adidas school. Alabama is a Nike school but he canceled his visit.

Besides most of the top guys being infatuated with the SEC, why do you think it's such a difficult position for this staff to recruit? A 5* is the dream but can we at least get some top 20-30 DTs? Kennedy would be a nice start.
well they are seldom local so we can start there.

they are heavily populated n sec countyr or mid west states just due to genetics im guessing.

We’re doing really well. I do not want to be a crab in the bucket but I am worried about DT and LB recruiting. It’s a soft spot on this team rn and has to turn into a strength. Only way back to the top is with DTs. Look back over the last 20 years. Almost all the natty champs had at least one top tier dt or two.

Long post from perplexity @Lance Roffers @DMoney

Over the past 25 college football national championship winners (from the 2000 season through the 2024 season), a significant number have had a starting defensive tackle drafted in the first three rounds of the NFL Draft. Based on the available data and specific examples from recent years:

- **2024 Ohio State**: Michael Hall Jr., a starting defensive tackle, was drafted in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft[1].
- **2023 Michigan**: Kris Jenkins, a starting defensive tackle, was drafted in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft[1].
- **2022 Georgia**: Travon Walker, a starting defensive tackle, was the first overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft[2].
- **2021 Georgia**: Jordan Davis and Devonte Wyatt, both starting defensive tackles, were drafted in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft (not shown in the search results, but widely documented).
- **2020 Alabama**: Christian Barmore, a key defensive tackle, was drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft[3].

From the code result, which analyzed a sample of five recent champions, four had a starting defensive tackle drafted in the first three rounds. This trend is consistent with the broader pattern observed over the past 25 years, as many championship teams feature elite defensive line talent that transitions early to the NFL.

**Summary Table (Recent Examples):**

| Year | Champion | Starting DT Drafted in Top 3 Rounds? |
|------|--------------|--------------------------------------|
| 2024 | Ohio State | Yes (Michael Hall Jr., Round 2) |
| 2023 | Michigan | Yes (Kris Jenkins, Round 2) |
| 2022 | Georgia | Yes (Travon Walker, Round 1) |
| 2021 | Georgia | Yes (Jordan Davis, Devonte Wyatt, Round 1) |
| 2020 | Alabama | Yes (Christian Barmore, Round 2) |

**Estimate for the Past 25 Champions:**
While the exact number for all 25 years requires a detailed year-by-year roster and draft analysis, the available data and the code sample suggest that approximately 80% (or 20 out of 25) of national champions had a starting defensive tackle drafted in the first three rounds. The code result, using a small sample, found 4 out of 5 champions fit this criterion. This is consistent with the reputation of championship teams for having elite defensive line talent.

**Conclusion:**
Of the past 25 football national championship winners, it is estimated that about 20 had a starting defensive tackle drafted in the first three rounds of the NFL Draft, illustrating the importance of elite interior defensive line play in championship success.
