I have never said that there weren't changes to the NIL deal. I have the texts to prove that I knew about that. But his choice from the moment he silently committed to the moment he publicly announced was UM.
As Jackson said when he referenced his choice of Drew Rosenhaus for representation, he wanted someone who would "take souls". And that's what he got. I've got nothing against financial negotiation. Yes, the number was increased. Which was due to another offer increasing as well. If something had "changed", Miami would not have had the chance to counteroffer. Like what happened with Jeremiah.
Nothing changed. More money was offered by one party, more money was given by another party. Normal in contract negotiations in the real world.

Since you're saying it's going bad (or I guess not as well as the coaches think) why don't you just post your actual prediction for the class? I don't think anyone should expect recruitments of top players to go perfectly. Like out of top guys like: Cantwell, Keys, Lamar Brown, Calvin Russell, James Johnson, Derreck Cooper, Anthony Jones, Bryce Perry-Wright, Keenyi Pepe, Nolan Wilson, Samari Mathews, and like Jaquez Wilkes, how many do you think we land? Those are all top 85 guys in the Composite rankings.
2025 we signed 2 top 100 guys. 2024 we signed 7. 2023 we signed 4 top 100 guys.
So out of that list of guys we've been on how many do you predict we land for 2026? 5? I mean 5 would be getting like Cantwell, James Johnson, Cooper, Wilkes, and just 1 more... That seems entirely reasonable... And if things ended very well we could land what 7-8?
Cause like if you're saying **** aint sunshiine and rainbows, but then also think we end up with like 7 of the guys I names above, that doesn't fit the narrative of things not being good to me...

Listen, it's very simple. Things changed. Had we not upped our bag, he likely does not stick with us. So to say things didn't change when we had to renegotiate the terms is just not true. Were we in the drivers seat, yes, but we had to meet the new demands to remain their. That by definition means things changed.
I wouldn't agree with your final point. If we are the leader for weeks, he gets another offer from UGA and says hey I want you to match this or add X because I want to be a Cane and we do, I don't think much actually really changed. I mean yes technically we had to increase the offer to get him so there is some aspect of the Deal changing, but he still wanted to be a Cane and we led the entire time. That's different than implying we had him then he changed his mind to want to go to UGA then changed his mind back to going to Miami. Those are two very different versions of "Change"...

Who said that? Where did I say he wanted to go to UGA? What I can say is if the offer wasn't increased, than he could have very easily moved on. So yes, things absolutely changed.

I mean Idk about that assesment (of not getting top 5 with those numbers). We landed 7 top 100 guys in 2024 and had the #5 rated class. We currently have 5 top 250 recruits in this class, and only 1 of them is top 100 currently. So if we get an additional 5 like you estimate we can, that'd put us at 10 top 250 recruits with just that alone. 2024 we signed 9 top 250 recruits. And that's not even including guys we are after in the 100-250 range still in this class that we can/likely will land some of like Spafford, Briggs, Stancil, Kent, Wingo, Andre Clarke, Asharri Charles, Devin Jackson, Jasen Lopez, Cortez Redding, etc. I mean what another 5 of those are likely Canes? So we are talking 15ish top 250 recruits vs 9 in 2024 where we finished with the #5 class?
I think once you factor that in, I think if you just look at it relative to 2024, It absolutely has the makings of a top 5 class if we get 6 of the top 85 guys I listed (especially given one of them is Cantwell who is #1). And if Lamar Brown and 1 of Keys/Russell are in our class, I think they make top 3 very realistically possible....

Look, you can tell yourself whatever you want to tell yourself. If you **** yourself when you got the text that another school offered more money, that's on you. Not everyone can handle the ups and downs of modern big-boy recruiting.
Now you are changing your story. Now it's just "things changed". And that we were "in the driver's seat". And that we "upped our bag", which I have never disputed. What I AM DISPUTING, is your gross exaggeration of "A LOT OF CHANGES". You said that, not me, and if you are now backtracking like an NFL cornerback, I'm fine with that. Honesty is the best policy, even if someone has to admit he was wrong.
And don't pull this "that by definition means things changed" bullcrap. If I know that Miami and the Collective have the intention and wherewithal to counter-offer, then "by definition" I do not get as panicky as you do. It's just that very simple.
You can't hide behind the generality of the word "things". WHAT THINGS? Did the money increase? Yes it did. Same for Cam Ward's negotiation. I'm saying there is a very large difference in "things change" between we needed to match the NIL negotiation in a recruitment we were the leader the entire time at the end, and a version "things change" where We were the leader, then UGA became the leader and where he was likely to pick at that moment, and then it flipped back to us.. Those are very different things Is My point. So saying Things changed in the Cantwell recruitment... I mean sure a little, but that doesn't seem like a big change, where like Pepe for instance went from us in a similar spot as Cantwell and then all of a sudden it changed to USC being the pick. Now that is a real big change... And sure you can say had we not matched he may not have picked us, but did we match for Pepe? I don't actually know that, but I bet we probably did, yet that didn't end up flipping back to us... because that was a real big change....

I don't pick and choose publications to favor us, I look at the composite. Lowe was the only top 100.
As of now, we are not landing a top 5 class. I look at the rating average of classes to determine ranking. That 2023 class was the 10th best as far as average player rating. That number truly tells you how talented the class is.
Unfortunately with Mario, he always takes way too many 3/2 star guys. Look at every one of his classes from Oregon to here. Compare them to the top 5 classes each year and look at how few non blue chip players the top 5 classes take.

Bro that is On3's Composite. 247 has their composite, on3 has their version. All the composite is is a mix of each sites ratings. But maybe 247 uses one breakdown of like 30/30/10/10 or something and On3 uses another, idk. I like On3s website better so I use their composite ratings. On3 had Moore rated 63 nationally on their own ratings and #100 in the composite.
Average Rating per player matters less when scholarships increase to 105 and you SHOULD be taking a HS class closer to 35 than 25.
See, on this we can agree. This is a reasonable statement. It would be nice to have this kind of a rational assessment instead of "there were a lot of changes" in a recruitment that we led nearly from the outset until the announcement.
The reason I'm calling out your "lot of changes" statement is because we have a bunch of posters on this board who are scared of their own shadows. And once a couple of other posters build some momentum for "we're not getting this recruit" or "this coach is the worst recruiter on the planet", then all of the frightened posters jump on the bandwagon.
I know you know more about recruiting, this year and in past years, than you are displaying right now. If you think I'm being too critical of you, it's because I expect more from you.
I'm up here in ATL. I know how all these UGa and Bama fans are whining like babies right now because they want to get back to getting a "you-won-a-ship-recently" discount. We just have to stay calm, hold our fire, prepare for the counteroffers, and reassure some of our terrified posters that there is plenty of time on the recruiting clock.
And on a separate note, and I'm sure you'll understand this, I'm very disappointed in a pair of UM alums right now, as it relates to the recruitment of a certain recruit.
USC's offer overall was better and we were not beating it.
