Anyone ever decipher how tall/heavy Anez actually is?
Quick feet is literally best foundation for an OL, can teach almost everything else.

Can only go off of the years of tape these guys put on film, they obviously have track record of being good practice players and fooling coaches but when game time comes their film isnt good (this dude flagg sets up cones for coaches, I know they LOVE that type of stuff and call it leadership, lol)

Sept 17 will be here soon enough, we will see what them boys is about
Man stfu, ****

Here's the thing with Flagg - his mind moves quickly and I think he'll eventually be an effective coach a year or two after graduation. Clemson has proven that if you have LB's that are smart and you squeeze all athletic ability out of them through good training and nutrition, put them in a solid defensive scheme and have a very good DL in front of them, you CAN have an elite D.

I predict that Flagg will play a ton this year. He may get exposed some against TA&M and CU, but over the course of the year, I think he will get a lot of burn and play well for us.

My sentiments, exactly. Exactly how I see it.
I could see him being our Rayshard Ashby this year.

People too worried about size... which is crazy to me after all the opposing tweener backers who have wrecked us over the years.

We said the same shii bout Arthur Brown, only for him to leave for KANS State and make plays all on us..

One thing I have confidence that improve for the overall team is the players understanding of the game, play recognition, concepts etc. Alot of times people blame physical ability for players problems, sometimes it is but alot of times it's lack of football IQ development. I seen slower players or similar ability players to Flagg make NFL roster and even became beasts. Making the NFL is one thing , you don't need to be a NFL player to be a good ACC LB or player.

Seeing a team who know exactly what they are doing in big moments is gonna be the
highlight of the season for me. It will start on the OL. I want minimum 5 long runs V BCC. And I'm talking 40+ yards.

Figured the Tyler Williams nugget would get more attention. Former QB. D1 basketball kid. Great frame. LAKELAND DREADNAUGHT. Thought he'd end up in the SEC. Love our Mario factor.

I'm sure we're all excited

But I mean it's a long way home...we've gone all the way to signing day with Lakeland kids before.

why do you continually denigrate Flagg? it is starting to seem personal.

Flagg wasn't as bad as he seemed last year. Yes, we all know he's not gonna win any 100 yard dashes, but he was in a system that accentuated his deficiencies. Now, he has great training and is in a system that will hide many of his weaknesses. He's in for a good year. Now, will he keep Caleb off the field as the starting MLB? I have no clue and don't care, because I have trust that our coaches will put the players on the field that will best help us.

Ben Boulware at Clemson won ACC DPOY being 6’, 235 lb with a verified 4.85 in the draft process, and it’s because he was put in situations that were within his means that set him up for success.

Being in a Manny Diaz defense having multiple OL getting to the second level to block you does not put you in good situations.

Flagg, who has a lot of intangibles like Boulware does, can be a good linebacker in the right scenarios. With a good d-line and a sustainable coaching philosophy now, I expect Flagg to be successful and play to his strengths.

We’ll see. I’ve seen him kill it at Georgia and in practice here. When he was at the ridge he was good too. I’ll take safe with the ability to break one, over great and the ability to put one on the ground. He’s smart and fearless. X is solid too. I’m more afraid of him getting hit unnecessarily. We need him healthy for every game, except the bowl.
we need BOTH Tyrique and X healthy for every game.. but I know returning shows Tyrique's versatility too for the draft but rarely does the NFL put starting DBs on return as well (at least I can't think of too many examples).. too costly if they get injured..

I say let Curtis return the ball until he makes a mistake...

D$, is there any word about more of our fast guys getting a crack at PR and KR? Curtis is fast, but the other two are clearly just more surehanded guys. I'd like to see more fast guys get a chance to return the ball.

Not a full-fledged Bank this week because most of this stuff has been publicly discussed, but here is the latest from sources very close to the situation:

- Mark Fletcher remains a serious flip candidate and it could come earlier in the season. The team envisions a Thunder and Lightning backfield with Chris Johnson, Jr., who is leaning strongly to Miami.

- We are a serious player for WR Tyler Williams. The competition is stiff and his visit will be critical, but the smoke is real.

- The keys to the season according to the inside view is staying healthy and making plays at WR. The hope is that success in the games will snowball into more consistency than we've seen at practice. Keyshawn Smith and Xavier Restrepo are taking charge at the position and Brashard Smith showed a lot of flashes late in camp. Restrepo, Tyrique Stevenson and Malik Curtis will battle at returner. A lot of people are eager to see what Curtis can do there, but experience gives the other two an edge initially.

- Corey Flagg has remade his body and made new fans on the staff. He is the leader of the group. His improved physical condition has unlocked more speed, which he needs for his game.

- The TEs are at full strength and will be a focal point of the offense. This is something we haven't seen all the way in scrimmages due to injury precautions, so the BCC game will be our first real look at the Gattis attack.

- Our offensive line has seven starter quality players- Zion Nelson, Jalen Rivers, Jakai Clark, Justice Oluwaseun, DJ Scaife, John Campbell and Logan Sagapolu. But there is an 8th name getting better every practice and pushing to get on the field already- true freshman Anez Cooper. We may have a steal there.

And while you are here, check out my 5th Annual Preseason Hype Pod if you haven't done so already:

Cooper comments on signing day.

He has IT. But I really hope we don't need him this season. Let him develop on the scout team and give our starting D some competition while he grows into his body. Where are McLaughlin and Washington? We need one of those guys to fill in behind Nelson, Campbell, Scaife and Oluwasuen at OT, not Cooper.

I don’t like to write people off, but I wouldn’t count on him. Cooper and McCoy are already ahead and McClaughlin will be too.

He hasn’t put on weight and strength as much as I hoped given his frame.

I know OL evals are tough. But it's mind numbing how many whiffs we've had. I like Washington as a project, Reed looked great at the All Star Game, Isaiah Walker had infinite upside. So frustrating... Is Big Baby just too small (pun intended) to be a factor? Rodriguez too small? ... Those 2023 kids can't get here soon enough.

Please no to Tyrique at return. He doesn’t look natural there.

Pretty sure we heard the same thing last year about Flagg’s improved speed, but maybe it’s legit this year.
