i'm not in the doomsday crowd, but, for some reason, i'm not reassured by her comments or his.

This, it's pretty easy to see right through her B.S. comments.

what do you want from them??? if i were in his shoes i wouldn't close the door on UCLA right now either. its just a bad business move for them to close doors at this juncture as anything can happen between now and signing.

you leave your options open. that said, she stated they are firmly committed here. i hate to tell you guys the door is always open for any recruit until they sign on the dotted line.

I'm not a nervous guy, and I don't care what happens because UM will win with him or without him. But this all sounds like a little bit of double-talk to me.

If it's truly 100% rock solid, then all you have to say is "I am 100% rock solid to UM. Nothing has changed. I'm proud to get the UCLA offer, but I am 100% committed to UM." That's it.

The fact that he's suddenly going recluse when he's been talking up a storm until the minute he got the UCLA offer doesn't compute. The comments kind of come across like a dude who got caught ******** around on his wife.

he did tweet last week he was going dark in preparation for this football game. he did this prior to their game against oaks christian as well. i agree they could have been more definitive in their commitment while still leaving the door open. i still have confidence the kaaya family understands the special nature of a QB offer and commitment vs other positions.

What Franchise said.

Dude's starting to come off like Brett Favre when he got caught texting pics of his weener to everyone with a phone.

When easy questions lead to complicated, long answers, then smart eyebrows raise.

Not buying in on that. That's about the same time period when Mora decided to get off his *** and go see him play. I'm paid a lot of money to be a suspicious guy, and I'm the best there is at it. I read people like Superman reads the first line of an eye chart. I'm not saying he's gone or anything dramatic like that, but there is fckery going on behind the scenes.

When you have a great "system", you win with system QB. I am not worried about winning in the future with AG in charge.
Having said that, I don't think Kaya will de-commit unless something drastic changes, regardless of what statements him or his family make. People forgot that his mom said the same, albeit in a subtle way during her long interview with Pete: He is a cane unless something drastic changes.

AG is going nowhere. But in the hypothetical situation that AG suddenly left to the NFL, do you think Kaya will stay committed?

like for instance...debilitating ncaa sanctions. you think they don't have that in the back of their mind. we get usc style scholarship reductions and a lot of this class will bolt so fast you will wish we just lost kaaya,.

that being said i think he sticks barring we get a USC style hit.

I didn't know Mrs. Means-Kaaya was such a good dancer.

Way to sidestep the question and say a whole lotta NOTHIN'.

HE GONE!

if i'm betting, i'm guessing, the opportunity to stay became to great to overcome and he loves what they are doing at ucla and he wants to be close to his family. that's what i'm guessing.

his response to the below question is the same thing. He's 100% Cane, has helped recruit as much or more then any other commit, including SFL locals and has said nothing that should have us comparing him to Farve's wavering ***

@CANESFANALLDAY writes:
"should miami fans be nervous with the ucla offer or no. Were kind of on edge right now?"

Brad Kaaya's Response: ‏
" I wouldn't be"

What Franchise said.

Disagree.

A does of perspective would be healthy right about now. How many times have we seen premiere out-of-state oral commits succumb to hometown pressure, whether it's the media, extended family, high school teammates (including their go-to receiver), and even his high school coaching staff (I think I read his coach brought him into the office and called Moron for him) - ******' everyone in the hometown in his ear and in his mind. That's a ton of pressure on a 17 year old kid trying to graduate high school, lead his team to a state championship, and squeeze in some time here and there for some pussoi.

A statement like "I'm 100% committed to Miami," and you're the hometown turncoat. A statement like "I'm still committed to Miami, but I owe it to myself to explore all my options," and you're sending mixed signals to The Don and Co. A statement like his mother made perhaps gives the kid some breathing room, as he reaffirms his commitment to the coaches, but still gives homers some cause for optimism. But most importantly, it gives the kid the breathing room he needs to get through the season and his senior year.

I believe this was more about buying himself four relatively unmolested months. The statement "leave me alone, I'll deal with all of it after the season" accomplishes that to the greatest extent possible.

We have read his and his mother's statements over the past few months. They always seem measured, calculated, and appropriately edited (whether by them personally or a friend/advisor).

Until we hear of the staff extending offers to other QBs in the next few weeks, or unless he actually starts doing interviews and playing the recruiting game(s), I'm gonna keep on keepin' the faith in a kid who was born to be a Cane and who, by most accounts (on this board anyway), is one of the few young men these days who get such virtues as commitment, honor and the Golden Rule.

So I will stand with the "step away from the ledge" crowd.

It's great to be ... again.

I actually feel worse about him now after reading those comments. Not reassuring at all.

Oh well....we have Olsen who was gonna start for 3-4 years imo anyways.
