Never want to hear that from a coach at a feeder school

To be fair, he was being a total ****. He was obviously playing us, and likely had some idea that Thomas and Kirkland weren't coming here. When Barrow pressed in on Kirkland and asked him where he really wanted to go, the kid said something different from what his coach had been telling us. It was obvious what the **** was going on, Kirkland would have had no problem privately committing to Miami this close to signing day if he was really coming here. Everybody (or everybody except the crazies like Keith Bryant) knows exactly where they are going at this point in time. If kid won't commit to you in private, and he does not have a history of mental illness/sociopathy, then it is obvious that he is just stringing you along.

In the long run this will work in Miami's favor. Tim Harris doesn't like Golden because corch Randy was his boy. He's going to find anything to complain about with Golden. These South FL kids need to quit with the me me attitude. If you want to come to Miami and build another Championship caliber then commit and help build momentum for the program. **** or get off the focking pot! Hat day is for infants! Make your commitment and keep your GD word like a man! Golden is going to be looking if you're looking and he don't give a **** if you're from a feeder school or not.

When Miami is balling kids will be forced to jump onboard or be left in the dust... Golden is an ace recruiter who will find someone just as talented as you and knows he can develop and coach them up. Most of us knew nothing about Eddie Johnson but he balled out!

I'm having flashbacks of the Shannon Error in this very thread.

If Patrick Johnson doesn't want in...SO BE IT...I didn't want him anyway.
Corey Liuget is a goner, nothing we could have done with that.
FSU still hasn't gotten into Dade...Randy didn't even want Xavier Rhodes and Rodney Smith...
We were SO not outworked for Kayvon Webster...its obvious we dropped him.
Of course we didn't need Blair Walsh...we had Darren Daly and Frankie Z, of course we didn't need a kicker!
Lerentee McCray will never amount to anything. Gator trash!
OMG, CJ Holton, such a BIG get from FSU KUNTRY!
We have Jacory Harris, we don't need Geno Smith!
Why would we recruit Stedman Bailey? We recruited SEVEN wide receivers last year...NO ROOM!
Why should we recruit Robert Sands? If you can't do your part to get your grades in order, why should we give you an offer?

Larry bringing the hammer

You guys always read the tea leaves. Here's what's obvious to me. We're not seeing the whole story. Also our class is full. I have to think that we have silents from evryone. How many of the hometown boys are included I don't know but we're full. They clearly have another stud to fill his place. Finally I don't think he was asked to go public but to give his word.

Obviously, and he couldn't do that.

However, thanks to Ice Harris' inability to keep his ******* mouth shut and sort **** out privately like a man, we actually know a **** of a lot about this situation.

ESPN 150 OT Kirkland loses Miami spot

All signs pointed towards ESPN 150 offensive tackle Denver Kirkland (Miami/Booker T. Washington) selecting Miami on Wednesday, but that won't be happening.

According to Booker T. Washington head coach Tim Harris, the Hurricanes just couldn't wait for him. A new commitment, one that hasn't gone public, on the defensive side of the ball apparently has taken his place.

"They told him that they couldn't promise him that he could have a scholarship on signing day," Harris explained. "They got a commitment this morning from a defensive lineman, and so they chose to go ahead with that route. It is the same reason Ira Denson canceled his visit this weekend. That's pretty much what it was, it was a numbers game for them."

Kirkland, rated the 12th-best offensive tackle in the nation, wasn't exactly happy about how it all turned out, obviously.

Harris explained that Kirkland was just days away from fulfilling a dream he's had for a while, and now it's gone, so close to the finish line. But his situation, announcing on signing day, was well known for a while.

"He's hurt; I think he's extremely hurt -- upset," Harris described. "I think, as a kid, he looked at Miami as a place that he wanted to go to growing up. You know, being a couple days away from possibly signing to the school that he's liked all these years -- but he wasn't ready to commit yet, because there were two other schools he liked, and he wanted to be completely sure. He's had this signing day announcement for a long time now on ESPN. It wasn't a surprise to anyone that he was waiting until then, but they got a commitment from a defensive lineman. It hurt, but he's got to pick up the pieces the best he can and realize that it just wasn't in the cards for him."

Now just three teams stand in the race for his signature next week. And all three have gotten an official visit at one point or another.

"Florida State, Arkansas and Ole Miss," said Harris of the finalists.

It is unclear how this affects the decision of five-star outside linebacker Matthew Thomas, Kirkland's teammate, who is closely considering Miami, too.

Wait, didnt he say he assured Miami DK was coming? da ****?

So how is this golden fault? They say your not guaranteed a ship on signing day. Tell us should we save you one? He basically says no. Kirklands choice.

The same staff that waited for AJL for a year while he was in prep and burned us anyway? Ice may be stretching the truth a little...

Man Im so sick of this bullsh*t drama already. Its pure cr#p. Can no one in the media ask the obvious question? If this kid was so close to living out his dream at Miami, why didnt he commit? Why in the next sentence are they saying "he wasnt sure yet"??? LOL How was he going to be living his dream in a few days, if he's "not sure"?? "It hurt", WHAT HURT? HE had an offer, he was given a chance to commit. He didnt.

Golden needs to step the **** up. USC didn't/doesn't have any problems recruiting with looming sanctions, so I'm not buying that ****. And they have Kiffin as their coach!

Apples and oranges. Like Miami, SC is in a talent-rich area. Unlike Miami, they've been the only game in town. UCLA and Stanford are good programs, but they're not taking kids form SC on a regular basis. Miami, on the other hand, has to compete with FSU, $EC schools, and, quite frankly, a lot of high school coaches with ulterior motives. Add to that a relatively small fan base and tougher than average academic standards and you begin to see how much easier it is to recruit at SC and other places than at Miami.

With that said, is that an excuse to not get top talent year in and year out? Absolutely not. We should still beat out those schools and keep the local studs home, which we've done for the most part under Golden. I'm just saying you can't compare SC and Miami recruiting because they don't deal with half the **** we do.

I have been nervous for weeks, but honestly I felt we'd get

Kirkland
6
Coley
Collins
Bostwick
Grace
Bryant

Now Bryant is a huge ?
Kirkland is out
Bostwick who knows at best 50/50
And we better hope Thomas isnt extremely close with Kirkland or Ice gets over this quick

Even one of this sites writers is saying dont completely dismiss Louisville for Grace

Our class as it stands right now has

A Solid QB prospect
Nothing at RB or WR
2 Excellent TE prospects
3 OL . None a national recruit. 1 is a project
1 Stud DE
1 Complete unknown DE/DL
2 Prep/Juco LBs that arent big recruits
2 Excellent DB prospects who happen to be our only SF commits
1 Legacy who I honestly like some but no one is sure what position he is even going to play

We have right now a total of 6 recruits that would be welcomed as commits at most big time D1 school

6 fing wanted recruits at the University of Miami

We dont have a single recruit in our class that is actually going to be crossing the goaline for scores during his career at Miami

Our class right now is weak. We desperately need to close and right now just days away momentum is going the wrong way

Don't blame the coaching staff, this is an academic thing, they did everything they could to get him in but his grades got the best of him. I wish him well wherever he goes but ultimately you have to put some blame on the kids for not taking academics seriously. If 6 wants to truly be a cane he will. Ultimately he decides his own future.

The whole academic excuse is just that- a f kg excuse!!! Al Golden is just too fckg soft. A "Mr. Nice guy, howdy doody *** *****"!!! *****, play the fckg game! There's no room for that "clean-cut" bull****! Tell the kid he has a ship. If he fcks us? Oh well, ***** didn't have a ship anyway. If he does pull the trigger? You fckg move **** around, make moves.. But you never fck yourself. This ain't Temple... Every school in the country is after your kids, Al. Get a fckg clue, bish. Step up or step the fck off.
