WOW EVERYONE NEEDS TO CALM THE **** DOWN AND QUIT JUMPING TO CONCLUSIONS

2 HOURS AGO GOLDEN AND COMPANY WERE THE BEASTS OF RECRUITING AND EVERYONE WAS FAPPING

NOW EVERYONE IS READY TO JUMP OFF A BRIDGE

WE MAY NEVER KNOW WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED BUT TO GO NUTS WITH ONE SIDE OF THE STORY (THAT MAY NOT BE TRUE) IS CRAZY

THINGS ARE NEVER AS GOOD AS THEY SEEM AND THEY ARENT AS BAD AS THEY SEEM

SOME OF YOU ****** CANT HANDLE THE WAY RECRUITING GOES

Goddamnit Poops, you ain't never lied.

I love being able to say this to you, in particular:

***** U AIN'T NEVA LIED!!!!

Could be as simple as Golden & Co. thinking they were getting played.

Ok, so......

We may miss on Thomas, who by many accounts was an average of 60 percent chance of coming. The reason it's even at 60 is because Pete's probability. So call him 50/50. Tough cookies I guess.

Kirkland didn't do his part academically. Ice or Kirkland's family shouldn't expect Al to do something because of it. Real talk, straight up. Even if he tried to help, Al shouldn't be in that situation.

Bostwick, depending on the UF visit could still go either way.

Collins seems like a great shot.

Coley seems like a great shot.

Grace appears to be a lock.

Bryant is a goner, good luck to him.

So out of a possible 7 relatively huge recruits, we may pull 4, maybe five. And who knows where Thomas's head really is. He knows his boy's grade weren't right and that Al was working on his behalf, so he knew this was a possibility. If he wants out of Miami, so be it.

I'll take Coley, Collins, Grace, and possibly Bostwick into this class. That's still plenty of great pub come Wednesday on ESPN. And one TRUE loss in Thomas.

Back away from the edge boys. Thanks Pete, you're awesome. Don't know how to give rep on mobile.

The only sensible post I've seen so far.
We all know that Al is as relentless as can be. But if one kid wants to get out of town, and the other is non qualifier and does not want to go prep school route, what do you want AG to do? I know fans are not reasonable but this is ridiculous!

Let me just say this; what's the point in telling a kid you want you can't wait? If there's a spot today, there's a spot on Wed. if its a player you want.

This leads me to believe this isn't the full story.

I will say this as well, if it's grades, and you're sure he can't get in, what's the harm of letting him commit to keep the relationship with Thomas, Booker T, and Ice? You still sign the same number of kids with the assumption he's not getting in. If he pulls off a miracle and qualifies, scholarships open up due to discipline, transfers etc.

Again, the fact that Miami wouldn't just shoot themselves in the foot on purpose tells me there's more to the story.

What a cruddy update to read though. A class w/o Thomas, Kirkland and single-handedly damaging a relationship with a pipeline school would be a serious gut punch.
How about this? "Denver, you've had an offer for a year. We want you. It's your spot. Problem for us is, we don't know if you're coming and we've got an unexpected kid that wants to commit right now. We need to know if you're coming today. If you're coming, the spot is yours and we need to let player B know we don't have space while he's got time to find a scholarship. Your offer stands, but we need to know today or we have to move on ?" "Coach, I don't know. I need the next 6 days to think. You're in the top 3. I'll let you know on signing day." "Denver, I think it's best if we both moved on. I can't promise you there will be a spot open on signing day and I don't want you to get pinched. Wish it worked out better, but best of luck to you. You've still got plenty of quality offers. Good luck."

Agreed....but ICE is a straight up ****. That mudda ****** is acting like it's ok for us to wait til NSD and get left with our ****s in ours hands. I wonder if he would be so upset with DK if he announced going to FSU or whoever after not signing with the school of his dreams.

Tired of all the bs. Obviously we don't know the whole story yet but these SOFLA recruits playing these games is getting old now. If you wanted to be a cane so bad he could've just told them im in I just want to make an announcement. But is making an announcement that much more important than going to your "dream school?" These kids need to start respecting a UM offer more. I'm trying not to overreact because this is how recruiting goes but still this is your hometown school. I'm not saying to commit early but you have enjoyed the process and if the coaches wanted to make sure and you still want to play the game then move on. If you want to be a cane great if not **** you. Wake me up on signing day.

Front running town. Appreciate the GOATs who really repped the MIA even more. They could have easily went elsewhere.

Thank you sir. Some of us have been drinking too much kool-aid lately.

Need to let the dust settle.

People who are like guys losing Thomas isn't a huge deal are in denial

Personally, I'm not denial. Thomas would STILL be a huge get. But we've known that he was a 50/50 shot at best. You'd be in denial if you thought he was a Cane lock regardless of the Kirkland situation.

You win up front and with game-breakers. Losing Kirkland and Thomas, from Booker T no less, would go down in the L column.

Good lord - I am away from the board for 6 hours and when I come back everyone is going nuts about Kirkland and how AG and company screwed this up. Maybe, I missed something by not being able to read through the countless pages on this subject, but from reading the interview with Ice that Manny did and several pages worth of posts, I am fine with what the coaches did. If we had recruits willing to commit at positions of need that the coaches liked and Kirkland wasn't willing to commit to them privately, then I am glad they told him the offer is no longer available. Would you guys rather we get to signing day and are then left swinging in the wind when Kirkland picks someone else and we have no backups? That's how you end up with the Jeffery Brown's of the world. Or maybe we over sign instead; if you think Ice is mad now, imagine that scenario.

Maybe for certain kids/positions you can take the gamble and wait, but apparently the coaches didn't think Kirkland was worth taking that risk for (either b/c he wasn't good enough to wait for or we just need other positions that bad) and I am fine with that.

Disclaimer: This is all taking Ice at his word and not even taking into account that Kirkland may not qualify. If that is the case, or there is something else that we don't know about, then that obviously changes everything.

bunch of soft soft shouldered ***gots around these parts.

Kirkland was having academic issues for a while hence the USF considerations. this has nothing to do with Thomas so stop being a bunch of little girls making it out to be that. Kirkland is a great prospect and I hate to lose him but stop making this about Thomas.

You're basically agreeing with me. If they really wanted him they'd hold a spot if it was a numbers game.

Since they didn't, it means they either didn't love him, or there's more to the story.

There's always more to the story when you consider the feeder school angle. I'm just not getting worked up over it because I know Golden is smart if nothing else, and wouldn't be stupid to be stupid.

A young Nick Saban is supposed to act like a ruthless jackass from time to time, otherwise the comparison doesn't work

Overall I'm glad I don't follow this stuff. We'll have some new names then September I'll start to evaluate.

I'm having flashbacks of the Shannon Error in this very thread.

If Patrick Johnson doesn't want in...SO BE IT...I didn't want him anyway.
Corey Liuget is a goner, nothing we could have done with that.
FSU still hasn't gotten into Dade...Randy didn't even want Xavier Rhodes and Rodney Smith...
We were SO not outworked for Kayvon Webster...its obvious we dropped him.
Of course we didn't need Blair Walsh...we had Darren Daly and Frankie Z, of course we didn't need a kicker!
Lerentee McCray will never amount to anything. Gator trash!
OMG, CJ Holton, such a BIG get from FSU KUNTRY!
We have Jacory Harris, we don't need Geno Smith!
Why would we recruit Stedman Bailey? We recruited SEVEN wide receivers last year...NO ROOM!
Why should we recruit Robert Sands? If you can't do your part to get your grades in order, why should we give you an offer?
