Let me just say this; what's the point in telling a kid you want you can't wait? If there's a spot today, there's a spot on Wed. if its a player you want.

This leads me to believe this isn't the full story.

I will say this as well, if it's grades, and you're sure he can't get in, what's the harm of letting him commit to keep the relationship with Thomas, Booker T, and Ice? You still sign the same number of kids with the assumption he's not getting in. If he pulls off a miracle and qualifies, scholarships open up due to discipline, transfers etc.

Again, the fact that Miami wouldn't just shoot themselves in the foot on purpose tells me there's more to the story.

What a cruddy update to read though. A class w/o Thomas, Kirkland and single-handedly damaging a relationship with a pipeline school would be a serious gut punch.
How about this? "Denver, you've had an offer for a year. We want you. It's your spot. Problem for us is, we don't know if you're coming and we've got an unexpected kid that wants to commit right now. We need to know if you're coming today. If you're coming, the spot is yours and we need to let player B know we don't have space while he's got time to find a scholarship. Your offer stands, but we need to know today or we have to move on ?" "Coach, I don't know. I need the next 6 days to think. You're in the top 3. I'll let you know on signing day." "Denver, I think it's best if we both moved on. I can't promise you there will be a spot open on signing day and I don't want you to get pinched. Wish it worked out better, but best of luck to you. You've still got plenty of quality offers. Good luck."

And there you have it.

When did Michael Barrow start posting on Canesinsight?

Question.

Why pull the kid's schollie? Why not walk away quietly, let him go elsewhere on NSD, and if he does want to throw up the U, say, "Sorry dude, ship's full. We told you it might be," at that point?

Serious question?

Denzel Perryman, Gabe Terry, Jermaine Grace, Rafael Kirby, Jawand Blue, Alex Figueroa and Devante Bond say.....

"it was nice knowing you 6".....

Tim Reynolds@ByTimReynolds I'm no recruiting genius, but if Miami is telling four-star kids who'll end up at FSU, "Sorry, no vacancy at The U," isn't that a good sign?

Until we know for sure, only in our dreams. One thing for sure - no one on this message board has a clue why Kirkland was pulled. My guess is we only have a limited number of commits left to recruit and the defensive line is of greater priority the the OL, and without Kirkland providing a definite "Yes", even if not publicly announced, the U had to move on at this late stage in this ridiculous recruiting process. When in charge you have to know when to cross the bridge or burn the bridge. This appears to be one of those times - an executive decision by the man in charge.

MAYBE Golden and crew we're actually given a silent commitment from MT6 and that's why his offer wasn't pulled like Kirkland's. I doubt Golden blows the Thomas recruitment by bagging the offer to Kirkland unless Golden was given this commitment when Golden himself met with Thomas that same day. It's very possible that Ice was right in that Miami got a solid silent commitment from a DL earlier and Golden is working on team need and not from a want list. After all, Kirkland could've given a silent commitment, still had his announcement, and been a Cane, but decided otherwise. UM is not in the wrong here.

One other note, on the Rivals main recruiting update boards (premium) 10 out of 10 analyst had Thomas a solid UM commit. This was not the Canes Rival site either, so the assumptions were straight from Rival's top analyst. That was updated as of this morning too, so the fallout from this had already been out and exposed. MT6 will be a Cane along with other great area players. I trust in Golden.

Finally, I am so over Randy's guys ripping the current staff when 'their boy" was the biggest mistake Miami has ever made, although Coker is neck and neck in that race too. Get over it. We have a REAL coach and if your ties are more with Shannon than UM, goodbye. Kirkland can show you out.

Go Canes.

Opinions are a lot like a--holes - everyone's got one. And that's all we have from a variety of sources - opinions. We'll know when we know, and hopefully we'll be happy Canes once we know. My bottom line opinion is we have a limited number of openings and coach has to prioritize while walking a very fine line of getting or losing who has been prioritized. My other opinion is at this point in time I have no idea why any prospective commit should be riding a fence. With all this time in the recruiting process, except for some fringe players, what could possibly change between now and NSD for the first rate recruits regarding competitor schools? AG, bring 'em to the U!

LB Matthew Thomas tells me he's no longer taking an official to #UGA this weekend. He's 'tired of it all.' #FSU #Canes #Bama #USC
