lol @ all this

Kirkland could have been a silent but chose not to - whooooops, enjoy Tallahassee.

As for Thomas... this one hurts... but it isn't something we can't recover from.
After we go 11-2 next year the '14 class will be top 5 imo

Well, before un-crowning our coach and hailing him pALe Shannon, lets see how this plays out.

There's two ways to look at it: UM dropped the ball and lost a good OLine prospect or....

UM dropped a guy playing games early enough to implement another option

Im a big fan of coaches who have a plan and a process and keep grinding with an overall picture in mind. I still believe firmly Golden is that kind of guy....

In the long run this will work in Miami's favor. Tim Harris doesn't like Golden because corch Randy was his boy. He's going to find anything to complain about with Golden. These South FL kids need to quit with the me me attitude. If you want to come to Miami and build another Championship caliber then commit and help build momentum for the program. **** or get off the focking pot! Hat day is for infants! Make your commitment and keep your GD word like a man! Golden is going to be looking if you're looking and he don't give a **** if you're from a feeder school or not.

When Miami is balling kids will be forced to jump onboard or be left in the dust... Golden is an ace recruiter who will find someone just as talented as you and knows he can develop and coach them up. Most of us knew nothing about Eddie Johnson but he balled out!

Honestly you are living under a rock if you expect "the me me attitude" to stop anytime soon. For every Duke Johnson, who ALWAYS new he was a Cane and never wavered, there are 25 Kirkland's who are just doing what 18 year old kids do: act a fool. I am assuming AG knows this because if he ever hopes to be half the recruiter of a Saban or Meyer he better not give two craps about whether a kid wants a little attention on NSD. You think Saban has worried a whole lot about a 4 or 5 star kid playing head games? **** no! They realize that it takes a boatload of 4 and 5's to win Championships and worry about the attitudes later. Eddie Johnson: True story, but yet again for every EJ there are 5 Tyrone Cornelius'. Are you saying that UM should just bring in 6 3* kids in hopes that one may turn out descent? As for Golden being an "ace recruiter" i'll withhold my judgement after just 1 good class. He's going to find someone just as talented huh? How's that working out for Alex Collin's decommit? How about Bryant's decommit? You better pray he can even replace those recruits with some kind of talent but you aren't replacing those kids with ANYONE "just as talented" at this point in the process.

About these bandwagon jumpers when Miami is balling out, we've all had that dream and all of the sane people were dreaming about 4 and 5 star kids out on the field and bringing this team back to prominence. You're not EVER going to ball out with 1 Duke or THoward every two years just doesn't work that way.

I'm trusting Golden and staff to read these kids and to find out what's going on with these kids. As good as Pete is at getting info you gotta know that this staff knows so much more from so many different sources about what these kids are saying and doing on their visits and in-homes. No way we or any program worth its salt is going to allow so many slots to be NSD coin flips at best and NSD punkings at worst.

Don't disagree, but as Jimmy Johnson would say, different rules apply to different players. Maybe those two are higher on the board. So they are given that leeway. UM may not have better options for 6 and Collins but perhaps they do for Denver.

I think there's a lot to this situation where just a few people really know the truth

This is not a positive development, and the coaches cannot comment on this publicly. By Ice's own admission, however, we asked him for a commitment and Kirkland declined. At that point, we told him we were going to use that spot for someone else if he wasn't taking it. Seems we were upfront and honest. But we are going to take a beating for it in the short term, at least.

Not so sure, according to this article ICE told Cane's coaches he was committing to Miami.

Yeah but Ice isn't Kirkland. He could have given a silent to Barrow but chose to say "you're in the top 3". Coaches didn't want to be left holding their **** on signing day.

I got no sleep last night, up all night reading about our potential class and getting excited. Started hearing about Kirkland at midnight right before bed....3am now and because I am not disconnected from reality like some of the optimists on here, I am depressed and realize that Miami falls further behind. Not behind their former equals in Gainesville or Tallahassee, no Miami continues to fall behind Louisville, West VA, **** Alex Collins is loving him some Arkansas.

I do realize that this class will have very little affect on the team next year, and next years team has a lot of promise. They could get lucky and win 9 or 10 but that's still a team with a lot of young impact players. If this recruiting class fails we are going to be feeling it in the fall of '14 when who knows will be behind center, our OL will continue to be undersized after losing Henderson, no idea at WR outside Dorsett, the one bright spot SHOULD be the defense. Chickillo should continue to develop into a dominant pass rusher, Hamilton looked promising in limited action, and this kid Muhammed will have a year under his belt by that point, LB's should be solid, and if Bush and Howard live up to potential the DB's will be above average, all of that being said if we are weak in the middle not much of that will matter. Good DB's and a pass rush mean NOTHING when you cant stop the run. As of right now I do not see an average DT on this team in '14 let alone someone we can trust. Briscoe? Ivery? Maybe Tavadis Glenn will save the day. A big time or even semi-big time (im talking to you Keith Bryant) DT would make a HUGE difference for the '14 season. Lets hope AG really does have a talented DT to fill Kirklands spot.

Question.

Why pull the kid's schollie? Why not walk away quietly, let him go elsewhere on NSD, and if he does want to throw up the U, say, "Sorry dude, ship's full. We told you it might be," at that point?

Because that would be a **** move. The coaches were straight up with him.

Well I'm not gonna judge yet, at least not till this all plays out. I really hope this staff knows what the **** it's doing though. Half of the way this has turned just doesn't make any sense from the perspective I have. Peter's stories have completely done a 180 and while I understand that recruiting can go that way, there is more to all of this than what we know.......has to be. Peter does a great job as always and it's much appreciated, not attacking that at all. I'm just extremely aggravated right now and more from an aspect of what I don't understand than what has been reported.

Golden has done as good of a job as possible with the hand he was dealt. It's gonna be refreshing when we don't have to deal with the NCAA bull**** anymore and we gain some stability on the coaching staff. Everything sets up next year for a 10 win season and top 5 class.

Maybe Bryant isn't playing games privately. Just because he's messing with fans and the media does not mean he's messing with the coaches.

Despite the sad Denver Kirkland situation I still believe we will still get matthew Thomas because other than us being the hometown team we still are his favorite program by far.You can tell by any interview.I also can't see him going to fsu,his main recruiter who got them so high on their list was James coley who we now have and I just can't fathom him going outside the state. We will still land 6,I guarantee it.

Great 1st post Cheif Osceola

Golden is too **** organized to play this as poorly as it is being betrayed by Harris. Like some others have said maybe Kirkland wasn't as high on our board as Thomas, Collins, Coley and some others so we werent' goint to wait on him forever. To me its sounds like Miami did the honorable thing by letting him know his spot closes today as opposed to ****ing him on NSD

The crappy thing is that Thomas is probably gone now too and that really hurts, he is going to kill us for years to come at FSU, f*ck

Trust in Golden Al. He has done evrything right up to now, so in fairness, we should let it play out.
THIS. Even if we lose Kirkland and Thomas. Two players do not define a program.

Everyone calm down, and 'Cane On. In Golden I trust.
