A big concern of mine and it has, IMO, been an issue for a while now is the lack of cant miss dominant DL.

Relatively speaking, I just don't undestand why we don't have 3-4 badass DL coming out down here every year. Forston is the last 5 star DT from south Florida. Other than Liuget, Lemonier, and Vernon...I can't think of any top tier DE from around here.

I can't explain it. Why is there not a Clowney, Nkemdiche type every year.

Coaching and development >>> Star rankings

Lol, Uhh no. There is barely a Clowney every year in the freaking nation. Those guys arent just on every roster or something are they, lol...

South florida seems to have a hard time finding guys that size playing TE or DE. Those might be positions you have to go out of state for more often than not. Atleast if you are talking 6'4+ 230+ types. Sometimes those guys get pushed towards basketball early on and when they dont get that extra growth spurt they gravitate towards the gridiron very raw.

It's funny you mention TE. I was trying to put together an All-South Florida team in the NFL. Almost every position was loaded, and even quarterback is on the come-up. But who are the great TEs and HBacks coming out of this area? Richard Gordon is the only guy I could think of who plays in the NFL.

Walford is on track to become a pro and O'Leary is OK, but in general the position is thin as **** down here. The last superstar TE recruit I can remember was Willie Roberts at Southridge.

Not surprised, you just dont see those guys with that size playing football, and if they do its easier (maybe even valuable?) to throw them to DE because you dont need ball skills to run after the ball. Also the bball coach will be ****ed even if his center is 6'5 if he goes to play football, I remember that happening with T. Morant who ended up at ASU by way of UF.

Another thing that could be possible is nutrition when those kids hit that growth spurt they are rail thin, lol. An avg. high school kid is trouble for some single moms with financial issues I could imagine trying to get you weight up as a 6'6 190 pound kid who grew 5 inches over the summer.

Nice list, Pete.

I'd have a different order, but those are 8 of the 10 guys I'd have in the top 10.

Lu, if you dont mind would love to see how you would have your list or atleast who you think should be in the top 10.

Thanks in advance

Selling point for Michel and Cook is: Gurley and Marshall.

Gurley & Marshall have no one ahead of them. Cook & Michel will have Duke and hopefully Alex Collins on campus when they come.

I would venture that neither Michel nor Cook fears anyone. Which is what you want.

Kirkland and Johnson out. Carter and Grace in.

Matthew Thomas #1. Alex Collins #2.

I imagine that you aren't as big on measurables as you are football instincts Lu?

Hard to argue with that list. Great job Petey. Cook is a monster and a must get. Love the way he zooms in an dout of cuts without breaking stride.

Lu, others who have been following high school football for a long time, how do you feel the '12-'14 classes compare to other eras in Dade/South Florida history? Feels to me like the state of Dade high school football is as strong as it has been since 99-01.

I am good friends with Willie, till this day I wonder what his career would have been had he came to the U instead of OU. Sigh. Unfortunately for Willie, Miami had Shockey and other TE's when he was done with JUCO.

I have been saying this exact thing for a while, this is an unprecedented era. Some positions are more loaded than others but just the string of duke, collins, cook, yearby, sony, scarlett is a thing where if you get the chance catch a game of these guys because everyone doesnt get a chance to see something like that.

Cook has a burst that is freakish. Wow.

seriously. I dont think I've seen that from a highschooler before...I would remember that ****. He is unreal fast/quick. If this were NCAA, dude would be 99 acceleration, 96 speed. Oh and he breaks tackles!!

**** it, I'm in. He's the best RB in 2014, and I've been a Sony fan for the last 4 years.

Dear DeAndre Burnett,
Get Your Brother to The U.
Score,
