He's comfortable to leave Miami because they're in good hands?

I think he was being genuine. He said his ultimate dream was to play in the NFL and that "tomorrow isn't promised." This is a guy who got concussed on a two-man rush by Clemson and concussed on a cheap shot by Matthew Thomas. He knows his dream can disappear with one hit.

My take is that he wanted to go to the NFL, but felt obligated to make sure he left Miami in a better place than he found it. I would say he did that.

My dyck.

Good on him for giving a nice, thoughtful answer that plays well to fans and possibly NFL teams but the jokes on you if you actually believe that. You can't bullshyt this bullshytter. Kaayak's decision is based on what he thinks is best for him while factoring in UM's 2017 season at a whopping 0.0% of his decision.

LMAO at the though of Kaayak being our white knight returning if we were fielding Al Golden's first season hurricanes.

i'll echo the nice things said about the way kaaya conducted himself while the QB at miami the last 3 years, but also this^

he answered the question well, but i dont believe for a second that it truly factored into his decision. nor do i care if it did.

Was anybody thinking like I was and the way he talked about sherriefs made it sound like he was starting over malik

meh, I'd listen if he had beat fsu.

Quite possibly nobody on the roster I am less interested in their thoughts on the canes than bard.

Good get for Pete I guess though.

some posters on here are insufferable

Easily the worst fans in America...

Keep crying superfans, maybe one day you'll get a fancy badge next to your name so everyone knows your status as superfans.

If criticism is due and deserved, don't cry when it's given. Not everyone is going to run to the town square and wish him well as he rides off to desert us.

Kaayak is 100% responsible for the loss against UNC, and quite possibly without that schoolboy INT against FSU we win that game, end the streak, and get to the ACC championship game while we're red hot. So don't expect people to pen a thank you letter for his time as a hurricane or gratitude for his time spent here.

kid could take a hit but scared to death of running 40 yards

Kaayak's decision is based on what he thinks is best for him while factoring in UM's 2017 season at a whopping 0.0% of his decision

What's this based on? Your spidey sense? He says that he would've stayed if the team had a bad year. I've heard that consistently from people on and off the record. I'll take him at his word.

Kaayak is 100% responsible for the loss against UNC

Kaaya was the guy who kept calling runs into an 8-man front? He blew the block on the DE on the last drive?

He had a bad game. I thought he'd take a step as a junior and he didn't. But this "100% to blame" crap is emotional venting, not analysis.

It reminds me of how people praise Brock for beating FSU three times and rip Kaaya for losing to them. I bet they don't remember one throw Berlin made in those games. Meanwhile, Kaaya made insane throws only to watch Dalvin Cook or the extra-point team ruin everything.

Franchise's post said it all. I will remember Kaaya is a quality quarterback and a true Cane.

All of this + what franchise said.

His game progressed in every facet outside of avoiding pressure which till his credit won't knock him for it because he was injured for a chunk of the season and played every game

Brad Kaaya is so slow that when he eats a meal at Chartwells he only gets a case of the walks

Still think it was a mistake to leave early.
There was work to do as a team and for him individually.
Wish him luck because it's his call and he mainly will suffer the consequences or reap the rewards.

It's no negative consequence imo...If he had returned his game would have gotten further picked apart than it is now and it was an even DEEPER draft class in 2018. Take your chances with being a top 4 round draft pick. I mean give me a break statistically he had a great year and is still being picked apart. When was the last time Miami had a qb that played behind an oline like that and STILL put up 62% 3555 yards 28tds 7 ints? And played all the games while having serious injuries like the knee sprain, shoulder injury, concussion and turf toe...
That's just your opinion, man. And, I vehemently disagree with it.

It's right though, his stock would have declined even further and then what would you say then?
Your premise is completely wrong. If you don't see that, how can someone explain it to you?

Your insinuating he has no room to improve.

Thats ******* stupid.

Then again, I should know better by now.

I know you know what he did in the first half of the UNC game. Replace that with an average performance that doesn't overthrow at least 4 receivers for huge gains and we overcome Richt's play calling and win that game.

As for returning only if we had a bad team, sorry, no one on this earth is that selfless.

You think it's a guarantee his stock would have declined. It's a possibility, sure. It's also a possibility he would have improved on what's on the film: what scouts and anyone can see are problems in the pocket. Improve that film and he may have not only improved his stock, but also his chances of hanging around the league a little longer than the risk he's currently taking. Will he make it now? Who knows. Will he have made it if he stayed and improved? Who knows. However, you're speaking as if you absolutely know his stock would have declined if he stayed. That is merely an opinion.

Beat our rivals?
Win 10 games?
Win the coastal?
Win the ACC?

Had a good year?

Do you not see how they are picking his game apart?
"He doesn't drive the ball"
"Lots of underthrown balls"
"Erratic when pressured"
"Lack of arm strength"
"No feel of pressure"
"Not athletic enough"
This is what they are saying and would keep even next year. Statiscally he had a great year this year but everyone is saying he didn't play good. Stop trying to insult someone for having a different opinion than you, now move the fvck on

I think given our schedule next year it is safe to say his stock had a better chance of going up than down.

Maybe, but you know as I know kaaya is who he is. Why risk playing with your future like that. He will be drafted im at least the first 4 rounds. It's easy to sit back and say it's a dumb decision when you aren't the player because it doesn't serve the Miami fans best interest but at the end of the day sometimes you got to take those chances.

Look, I'm not a Brad Kaaya homer, but let's keep it 10000000 here; the ninja played on his back a grip or on the run. It wasn't until the OL got their ish together (Linder going down) that Kaaya started to look like the QB we thought he could be. For the first two years, his O-Coordinator was Coley...you know the same Coley who thought it was ingenious to throw the ball into a blizzard, and oh yeah, did so w/ a RB! Yeah, that was his coordinator. Did I fail to mention that his head coach, for his first two years, also won a contest for the sweatiest man on planet earth? That was his biggest accomplishment, may I add; that guy ran a "check w/ me system" to save his porous defense, and got mad when the offense scored too soon.

The kid didn't have it plush here...and before everyone go and jump on the "Francois was hit too" comparison...Francois also had some guy named Cook to alleviate any pressure he faced. Teams didn't game plan for Francois, they game planned for Cook, a game plan that failed 9/10. Teams game planned for Kaaya, and they came at him w/ the house b/c our O-L sucked!! And maybe, JUST MAYBE Kaaya would've beat FSU in 2015, had our defense had the ability to stop FSU in the last minutes. And maybe, JUST MAYBE, Kaaya would've beat FSU in 2016 had the refs decided NOT to get involved in our affairs.

I'm just saying, before you start piling on the kid, like I did, just take a step back...re-watch some of those games, and then you'll realize that he was pretty darn good here for us. Just like Duke, just like S. Coley.
