Monday Recruiting Chatter - 1/28

Not getting Richards is a pretty big fail, no matter how you slice it. Sure, you can't force kids to go somewhere. Of course. But to have Ahmmon here and to let this kid get away, it speaks a lot to how much of a failure the previous regime was both on the field in the last 16 games and on the trail for the majority of his recruitment. The kid is just a good football player, period. He has to be here. He will excel at Auburn or, please god no, UF.

Sometimes they don’t want to come here and you can’t make them come here.

MAR has had Miami crossed off his list for half a year, I’d wager. One good visit is not going to change that, nor is it indicative of this staff.

Correct. People must not have been following along. He wants to play Rb and that opportunity isn’t really here. The depth charts are a lot more friendly at other schools.

Ive never understood this argument about RBs

Honestly all you need is ONE really good season of producing and then putting on a decent show at the combine and BAM! your a draft pick sticking around in the league for 4 or 5 years

With RBs its almost in your best interests to be put in a spot of one maybe two years of starting before NFL teams worry about how much mileage you have on your legs

M-a-r doesn't say anything except all the visits are good...Why does anyone think he is or isn't going anywhere?

When we lose kids to Alabama, it’s ‘bags’. When we lose them elsewhere, it’s ‘depth chart.’ Once in a while it’s ‘some kids just don’t want to come to UM.’ The common link in all those explanations is it was somehow out of our staff’s control. It’s not us, it’s outside forces. And yet kids go to Alabama despite their depth chart. And they go elsewhere despite not getting Alabama bags.

My suggestion is the other possibility to consider is we aren’t recruiting as well as we should or could.

Reall

What issues could they have other then thank you so much UM health for discovering our sons injury before he was possibly paralyzed from the neck down? I mean seriously, are they mad that we discovered his injury that unfortunately ended his playing career? Would they rather risk him ending up in a wheelchair! Smh

If that were even remotely true I couldn't imagine A) Ahmmon continuing to recruit for and being a huge advocate for the program and B) His brother even taking an OV here.. Common sense says that story is ludicrous.

Apparently, "changing minds" isn't part of the recruiting responsibilities for a staff

I wouldn't say "never" but man I agree we do have to stop assuming things about kids based on their last name...
That's it. Unless your last name is Irvin or Blades, we have to go out and recruit that kid as if they have no UM ties. We are in a different era. Heck, we've gotten some FSU legacies and vice versa.

In the MAR matter, his brother's UM ties and situation actually hurt our chances. Oh well. Time to move forward (looking at you Cheney/Parrish).

Would y'all rather him just make **** up?

I like Stefan and I think that the Analyst on this site are ELITE (Roman and Lance above all) but no scoop or reliable and steady sources on here.

Do not get me wrong, I'm perfectly good with this, I'm just stating facts.

I agree but this one thing is about us not wanting him at RB for the last two years. So blame the staff or realize the position he wants to play wasn’t in consideration until a month ago. Blame who you want. Also players are willing to sit at Bama cause they are winning national championships. Players don’t go to 7-6 teams to sit.

I agree but he won’t see the field here as a freshmen. So he is going elsewhere to see the field.

Diaz killed the Transfer market but he failed to close on recruiting. This is still going to be the worst class ever and Diaz really did not do anything to improve the quality of it. I'm guessing he's not that solid of a recruiter. Oh well I guess it's going to take wins for us to get recruits again
I know this will get down voted now by mostly everyone, one day we may come back and look at this post and call u a prophet it always feels that way on here. Props for u not being scared to call **** out even if there a new staff in place.

But we do have to give him till 2020 to know for sure if hes about that life, we can have warning signs and red flags which is cool and ok but 2020 NSD will give us solid proof if he can close. We wont have to wait till that day we will see it throughout the cycle when kids announce early etc.
