Were they as accurate then like now? **** nah right......i would love to know i was probably in my dads balls at this time

lol, todays info is much more detailed and thorough. I even have all the recruiting videos from Canesport on VHS!!

Didn't want to start a new thread - thought the folks here evaluating talent "on hand" and "incoming" might comment on our "realistic" 2019 prospects here. I hear a lot about 10+ wins and beating UF and with the new staff and excellent portal transfers we are supposed to rock more often than not. Win the Coastal, etc...

...but I see all these "too early Top 25" all show UF in Top 10, and besides Clemson, VT and Syracuse appear a lot in the Top 25. Even N.C. in one. But not one mentions us. Aren't these analysts as impressed by the transfers and other promising things as our CIS fanbase? If not, why the heck not?

Troll.

Regarding MAR, I still remember everyone (I say that literally) conceding big bro to Bama. I said we were still in it, just like we are for MAR. They are playing it tight just like they did with AR, but nothing is coming out with MAR. The one guy close I still know knows nothing. Guess we'll see.

Im on wait and see as well....happy with the transfers hope Martel is day one starter but im hesitant cause i have been thrpugh this to many times and im waiting for the signs that we have the guy. We will know about a year from now. Most HCs say all the right things when they are hired which excites us but thats the plan ao we will see.

It only makes sense to doubt our own optimism right now. Most of us have been optimistic about the last 4 hires...there's always some reason to think it will work. Every coach comes in at least saying the right things.

Cautiously optimistic is as far as I go until NSD 2020 is over.

This class is not good enough however I think I 4-5 years we will look back and find it is full of quality players like

Payton
Hodges
Clark
Harvey
C Williams
Blissett
Harrison Hunte
Brooks
Huff
Couch
K Smith
Emerson

Matocha Holley Nelson ElGammal are probably projects with upside

Landed much needed punter

Add high level transfers which will be here 2-3 years

Bolden
Martell
Martin
Phillips probably

This class is 10-15 in the country Imo and probably top 8 when looked back in 5,years

Seriously, I have a few Prep Star and SuperPrep magazines from back in the day, and also some Athlon season previews, and they absolutely had class and player rankings. ( And yes, I was/am a nerd for this kinda stuff, lol)
Old Max Emfinger used to rate the kids and before him you had Joe Terranova. Max was always on down here with the Maddog during recruiting season, on one of those shows he predicted Kevin Williams to Miami.
:stormwarningflag-sm:

We looked like garbage in every game last year. We shouldnt be in the top 25 for that.
Agreed... but all the changes, and transfers, should be acknowledged by someone forecasting the "new" Miami in the "new" year, no?
(edit: new comment just above, like many, say with transfers we now have equivalent of a Top 10 class. So where's is the so-called experts recognition and forecast of that; don't they agree?)

Would love to see the staff get Jalen Mitchell to commit as the RB prospect in this class. We have plenty of depth at RB, so if he wouldnt pan out, not a huge deal...and I like his tape as a pure RB better than MAR. Not sour grapes, and MAR would have been a great commitment but I see him ending up at safety whether he wants to or not.

HAAA! Seriously, I have a lot of stored boxers that look juuuust like this...
I did too. Year ago, I delivered them all to the dump. A week later, I remembered one of them contained the ‘84 NC game. I regret it so much!

I like Stefan and I think that the Analyst on this site are ELITE (Roman and Lance above all) but no scoop or reliable and steady sources on here.

Do not get me wrong, I'm perfectly good with this, I'm just stating facts.
There’s really no “plug” or insider here a far as recruiting info goes...not hating just true obvious. Roman and Lance provide great insight and it’s appreciated.

Stefan waits for Ivins to do his write up and basically says the same thing in his “own words”. It is what it is.

Could be worse, could be Ferman who waits for he news to be announced & then tells everyone that he broke the story.

I agree. I like this kid. Doesn't seem like he would ever be the premier guy (could be wrong) but would be a solid number 2.

I’m over MAR but that Bost is interesting. At 6’3” he is a little short for DE but in nice range for DT if he has frame to and the weight. DTs need to be short enough to get low in short yardage to get under the oline. If he has quick feet he could work. We need stacked DTs who can bust up the middle of the pocket and make QBs pee themselves. Then the DE will have happy hunting grounds.

We want every team we play to be ranked high in the preseason rankings, they mean nothing, no one knows how someone will preform with new coaches, transfers, graduated kids/NFL losses.

Remember we were ranked in the top 10 to start the season last year as well, how'd that turn out?
