If you were expecting Diaz and the new staff to create miracles with this class in a few weeks, not including transfers, you probably weren't being very realistic.

Lol Of course they do. Ppl don’t care being realistic

I think we're getting a 8-12 class for 2020 barring us being a disaster again

Corners, DEs, OTs

I can only agree with your second paragraph.
And thats ok to have confidence and be thrilled about our closing there aint nothing wrong with that, im excited about the transfers but know in my heart of hearts that recruiting will always be how u become elite. Recruiting HS guys that are elite

This is why im ok with this, not thrilled about he closing but get it. Next cycle will tell us who he is

Two of our best classes ever turned out to be two of our worst (2002 and 2008). We won't know how this class stacks up for two to three years from now.
I hear u but its more accurate now then it was then, we will see u may be right for all we know. We will know more by this time next year and have a more accurate evidence to what MD and his crew can do.

Our recruits + our transfers would give us the 3rd ranked class in the nation if you use their 247 ratings. In other words we are bringing in Elite and Miami caliber guys that are older more mature , developed and game ready. Getting grad transfers for multiple years can do wonders for our program when bags get in the way. Mix that with the recruits that want to be here from Miami ( Lingard, Hall, Payton, Harvey types) and all of a sudden you cheated the bag game. I expect many of these transfers to make instant impact on the team and our team to upgrade from last year in multiple positions. That will lead to more wins than last year hopefully and a nice top5 category 20 class
Im not complaining about what we have, just we will get a better perspective on what MD and his guys can do with a full cycle.

Well the defnesivevstaff is exactly the same so there are no excuses for that side of the ball. The only six eof the ball whobgets a pass is the offense. Diaz and his crew on defense constantly striking out year after year can’t be explained away

Full cycle? Diaz and his crew have had 3 years. Defensive staff hasn’t changed. They get no pass. They have failed countless times recruiting but people keep hyping up Banda while sh*tting on Rumph. Both have failed along with Patke. Jess is the only one who gets a pass on that side of the ball.

The Canes just had another big recruiting weekend in terms of official visits, hosting targets such as RB Mark-Antony Richards, WR George Pickens, DT Jared Harrison-Hunte, S Martin Emerson, and QB Peyton Matocha. Here’s what I was hearing coming out of the weekend.

**On Matocha: the Canes got a commitment from the Texas QB in a move that was certainly expected.

**I didn’t hear anything overly positive coming out of the weekend on either Richards or Pickens and I believe it’s status quo with the pair. While I’m told both enjoyed their visit, sources say that Miami is still trailing for both prospects. I see them both as longshots to end up at UM.

**Nothing really new, but I’ve been hearing more positive news on guys like Harrison-Hunte and Emerson coming out of the weekend. UM feels strongly that they will both be Hurricanes; I put a pick in for Emerson on Friday afternoon after hearing some good news on him from a source and I feel even better about it now. As for Harrison-Hunte, Matthew has a pretty good source close to the recruitment there, and the source feels UM locked up Harrison-Hunte this weekend. Matt and I both put in UM picks for him on Sunday.

**In a week and half, the 2019 class will be signed, sealed, and delivered, and it will officially be time to shift the focus to the rising seniors of 2020. The UM staff has gotten a head start in evaluating players for the 2020 class the past few weeks and have really been combing through a host of prospects lately to see who is worthy of offers. One name to keep an eye on that UM is evaluating is Grayson (GA) DE Jadyn Bost. The 6’3”, 250 pounder already has P5 offers from Boston College, Indiana, Ole Miss, and Rutgers. Bost also has a connection to UM, as the teammate of UM offensive lineman signee Jakai Clark at Grayson.

(Jadyn Bost Highlights)

The focus will be as much on the portal as Diaz has said as much....after signing day he will know who can offer out of the portal....My guess thee will be at least 3.

I see what you are trying to say, and I agree to a point but the program was headed in the wrong direction under the previous regime, even if you are a defensive recruit you do not want to come play D for a team that will lose 13-6 to Duke and UVA.

Could care less about MAR. I don't want another RB. A bit of a wasted scholarship. We've got more than enough. He wouldn't see the field for a few years anyway.

When we lose kids to Alabama, it’s ‘bags’. When we lose them elsewhere, it’s ‘depth chart.’ Once in a while it’s ‘some kids just don’t want to come to UM.’ The common link in all those explanations is it was somehow out of our staff’s control. It’s not us, it’s outside forces. And yet kids go to Alabama despite their depth chart. And they go elsewhere despite not getting Alabama bags.

My suggestion is the other possibility to consider is we aren’t recruiting as well as we should or could.

At this point, I'm confused how remedial you must be if you dont think Bama, as well as the rest of the SEC minus Vandy pay players. MAR is going to either UF or Auburn, and they cheat just like Bama does.

Let me guess, you think the NCAA isnt biased against Miami either.

Nobody is saying Miami cant recruit better. But it's dumb to somehow think Bama doesnt buy kids. **** even their own fans openly admit it on message boards

If we didn't take Martin and if 2020 wasn't so loaded with RB then I wouldn't mind taking MAR at RB, but since that is not the case there's no reason for him to come unless he plays safety.

I agree but this one thing is about us not wanting him at RB for the last two years. So blame the staff or realize the position he wants to play wasn’t in consideration until a month ago. Blame who you want. Also players are willing to sit at Bama cause they are winning national championships. Players don’t go to 7-6 teams to sit.

But players go to 5-7 Tennessee and 5-7 FSU to sit. Explain that

a lot of Erickson's classes were ranked in the top 10 and had a ton of misses in them...

There was nothing approximating a "ranking system" for recruiting classes when Erickson was coaching. You had Bill Buchalter at The Orlando Sentinel, and you had vague claims made by local sportswriters, but there was no "top 10 ranking" during Erickson's time.

Agreed. Homer was arguably the least impressive RB we had on the roster, and he just declared for the NFL. Not a position of need.

This class isn't has good, but its not like it will affect us next season, besides maybe the CB position. You get a great 2020 class, then take some more transfers to fill in holes, and then you keep doing that until you don't have to rely on the transfer market to fill holes. Obviously you still get some transfers here and there, but you don't rely on them like we are doing now.
