Yup, congratulations. You nailed it.

We failed last season because of Cam and Restrepo. All the blame lies on them and only them for both of those games.

Thanks for enlightening us on this matter.
Only a clown would have that as a takeaway from what I said… 🤡

Our season was derailed losing to both Cuse and GT was it not? Both of them had a part in that.

….and yes I’m well aware our defense was as bad as it gets sans UF game.

Yesterday, rumors about JoJo suffering an injury. Later that day, we get CIS content (YouTube) that starts off by talking about the amazing depth of the WR corps and JoJo wasn’t even mentioned. Coincidence? Only if you are naive.

We mostly hear what Mario wants us to hear. Period. D$ does a great job sharing what he can and I enjoy the sunshine pumping on his broadcasts. It’s entertaining and helps pass the time until the pads come on. No complaints from me. But, take the information with a grain of salt and let your own eyes be the judge of how the team is looking.
What team fan bases do you think hear what the HC doesn't want them to hear?

Not slurping. Just trying to be objective.

A healthy Lagway is a special arm talent. They have two very good RBs. At WR they have Eugene and Dallas Wilson has had a very good camp. They have the most starts across the OL in the country.

On defense they have banks and sapp on the OL. I think they are weak in the secondary. It’s a good team, hate to say it, but it’s a good team. They May not go 10-2 bc they have a tough schedule. But it’s going to be a tough game and we should treat it as such. Not going to be last year’s game 1,team.
I’ve never bought or paid a lot of attention to OL starts. FSU was like the third most experienced/# of starts going into 2024, and their OL was historically bad. Florida also had a bunch of starts last year, and that OL was pushed around in a ton of games.

Last year’s game 1 UF team had better personnel on D than this year’s team. They lost their top guys on D.

Does it need to be said???

We overcame that ****** defense all year…except for those two games.

My bad… because Cam and X were great, they are absolved from any wrong doing. Only CIS!
The offense did enough to win against Syracuse. Yea Horton and X ****ed up late in the game but the defense can’t give up a 21-0 lead. Cam and X are at the very bottom of the list of issues from last year.

Wasn’t putting the slurpfest comment at you - it’s nationwide.

DJ Lagway - 57.9 QBR 1900 yards 12 TD 9 INT…and oh yea, he’s a walking injury.

The country is supposed to fear that? Particularly a team that walked into the dreaded swamp and curb stomped them just last year (and all indications are we’re a better, more balanced team this year)??

I simply don’t see it. And frankly can’t wait to see them get slapped around again this year.

Dallas Wilson having a good camp is no different than reports on Toney or Moore or CJ or JoJo here.. if that’s what they are relying on then….. can’t wait!

I agree 100%. But to deny someone ****ed up in a key spot in a game we lost because they bailed us out over and over again thanks to a historically bad defense isn’t being honest with themselves.

Quite a world where DJ Lagway is something to be scared of but Carson Beck is a game manager

You ain’t kidding…

But g**** if any of us were football novices and flipped on espn or read any articles, you’d **** sure be sold on that!

…and that’s without going into our Oline ***** theirs out for breakfast (which only enhances Becks ability to shine)

I think when people are trying to be objective they’re also just scared to be optimistic and have someone bump their comments down the road

Not always but there’s a hint in there

Better to be wrong that way than run around belligerent and get burned I guess

Me? Nah I’m much more concerned with other games on the schedule. This time last year people were talking tough games and trap games and me and a few people were pointing at Cal

Styles make fights and it’s hard to say just yet what our style will be so even more difficult to figure who exactly causes issues

And let's not forget the starting Gator safety WHOSE FOOTBALL CAREER WAS ENDED BY XAVIER RESTREPO a year ago....
Someone with his qualifications would have no trouble finding a top-flight job in either the food service or housekeeping industries

I’m with you…

I also think we handle ND. Maybe not quite like we will handle UF…but I’ll be surprised if we’re 1-1 out of those games - and many here seem like they’ll be satisfied if that’s how it turns out?

Me? Not so much. I expect 2-0 in those games.

Big games at the Rock play a MAJOR factor. Whether anyone wants to realize and accept that is another story.

There’s always a game or two out of left field that we end up in a rock fight though. Like you… not sure who that is yet but a home game against a big opponent with a legit Miami team? Not really concerned..

Not saying this is what @b caned is doing but we all know what happened in those games

I don’t like how some people are insinuating (or flat out saying) our offense will be better (or efficient or whatever stupid **** they’re saying) this year because of Cam in the GT game

We can be optimistic about Beck and the WRs without senselessly pointing to a couple of bad plays in a season filled with so much ******* awesomeness

This isn't true at all. I may personally curate it for strategic reasons (gameplan, injury), but the staff never talks to me about what I post or say.
I wasn't saying you, I was talking about from the other reporters who cover Miami.

I got you. In this case, I think it’s more of an issue of limited viewing. They are reporting what they see but it’s only a short viewing period.

In the offseason, there is more of what you’re describing because reporters aren't there and have to go off who the staff chooses to hype.
