George is a good example of why we should be optimistic. Pretty much a 3 star guy with nothing special about him yet he put up a lot of yards here under two very different QBs

To your point the Traders, Robinson, Carr etc these are guys on paper that were significantly higher ranked so someone should step up
Not that I disagree with your overall point, but you are downplaying George big time! He finished as a Composite Top 175 and I thought he was the most dynamic receiver on the team by a mile. If he was two inches taller, 10 pounds heavier and 10 years older emotionally, he would have been a stud.

I’m more concerned with safety than wide receiver much more actually. I honestly Think we have a lot to work with at receiver, yes unproven names but the talent is there. At safety we all saw how bad safety play can alter a defense and it’s vital those guys perform well this year
This.

I am guilty of drinking the Kool Aid but Poyser seemed like he was going to be a game-changer now he is "big and physical and looks the part".

Not saying he won't be better than what we have last year and doesn't have NFL potential, but it is worth remembering he is a redshirt sophomore with zero P4 experience.

Does Lagway actually have the brains to read defenses and go through progressions ? Or is he another glorified running back playing qb ? Thats the question he will have to answer. They have more at wr than we do but I dont see their trenches on either side as anything special at all.
Not a Lagway slurper, but he is not a running quarterback and he pushed the ball downfield plenty. You can definitely argue he hasn't proven he's capable of reading defenses yet, but he is not a running back playing quarterback. That dude has legit arm talent.

DJ is a smart player who came in with a high football IQ from high school and lot of POTENTIAL to get there with the right development. He’s not the Michael Vick, Lamar Jackson, just use his legs kind of guy, if that’s what you mean. And he does have a good arm.

BUT. And this is a huge but.

I think his loyalty to Billy and UF is going to be his downfall, because he is 1) not getting the proper coaching and development (and he’s missed so much key time!!!), 2) I knew Billy was going to throw him out too soon last year when Mertz wasn’t the savior and he got scared money for his job (this was before Mertz got hurt, so regardless I had said DJ would be taking the starting job last year), and 3) now the poor kid has more injuries than an FSU fan can count, and they have zero QB depth so he is getting rushed back too soon.

This kid was a 5* QB, and at this point, I would be shocked if he makes it to the NFL out of UF. He needs to transfer to get his career back on track.

Who had George so high from the services? I just remember him being like 60 or so as far as just wide receivers on 247

Like really low there for whatever reason

Remember seeing him as a freshman and I was like well **** he looks way underrated to me but only saw 247

But anyway yeah like you’re saying, that’s about the area we recruit a lot of WRs so it should be doable

He had a 53% completion percentage last year

Because he produced in erratic spurts. As I said in my post, he is (or perhaps was) all just potential. And he got thrown to the wolves prematurely last year, in a bad offense, with a bad OC, in a program that has been failing to properly develop and coach its players.

People get excited about him because he has all the tools, but it is getting wasted and ruined at UF. I truly feel for the kid. He’s a good kid.

This is cope man i can’t believe not even a full year later we are already downplaying our wrs from last year
Well the no draft picks is factual. May be cope in hoping it won’t be a big fall off. We shall see

To be fair, I remembered him as a mid 3-star and he was like the 60th ranked receiver by 247. But I feel like a lot of that had to do with his size rather than his receiving ability.

he was a four star on the composite. 3 star on 247
