Miami nabs defensive end Jon Garvin

Miami's recruiting class just got stronger.

Lake Worth, Florida three-star defensive end Jonathan Garvin committed to the Miami Hurricanes today. Gavin is Miami's 19th commitment of the 2017 class, and joins D.J. Johnson as the second defensive end. Sources tell CanesInSight that Miami is most likely done recruiting the DE spot for this cycle.

Garvin, the 6-4, 230-pound rush end, has been a fast riser this summer receiving offers from Florida State and Mississippi State. The Hurricanes were also after Central's Owen Carney and Dillard's Jordan Wright at defensive end.

247sports.com rates Garvin as the 28th-best strongside defensive end in the country and the 90th-best player in Florida.

I know rankings aren't the all that matters, but this guy was just recently included in the ESPN 300's latest update. 4-star and now with Bandy gives us 8 guys in the 300.

Love that we are not waiting around for some of these SoFla divas..

Think coach Kool gives a **** about one raw 3 or 4 star compared to another. He just wants whoever wants to be a Cane and he'll coach them up to be a star and NFL ready

Wright and Carney tried to play the games with Richt....they realized that he isnt Golden.....both will have to take lesser offers....they arent takes now for FSU or the ****...

This kid is a BEAST!! Hes still raw but his stats dont lie! To me production is more important than potential, but this kid is oozing with both! He can easily put on 20-30 pounds and be 250-60 rock solid while gaining quickness. He has a high motor and loves the game! He also has all the moves you want your dline to have (rip, swim, bull rush, club and a nasty spin move) AS A HS JUNIOR. The tape dont lie! Beast!!
