Miami nabs defensive end Jon Garvin

Miami's recruiting class just got stronger.

Lake Worth, Florida three-star defensive end Jonathan Garvin committed to the Miami Hurricanes today. Gavin is Miami's 19th commitment of the 2017 class, and joins D.J. Johnson as the second defensive end. Sources tell CanesInSight that Miami is most likely done recruiting the DE spot for this cycle.

Garvin, the 6-4, 230-pound rush end, has been a fast riser this summer receiving offers from Florida State and Mississippi State. The Hurricanes were also after Central's Owen Carney and Dillard's Jordan Wright at defensive end.

247sports.com rates Garvin as the 28th-best strongside defensive end in the country and the 90th-best player in Florida.

I do not put a lot of stock into DL's in camps over the summer. Most are not wearing pads and they have full room to roam around an OL on one on ones. Not close to game like situation. If he was going around Leatherwood in camps you got my attention.

I'm so glad you're so down on this kid. I was hoping that random guy on message board number 27 would give his in depth breakdown of the YouTube or Hudl highlights he just watched. How do you have time to post here in between doing your real scouting job? Wow you're a real hero, sir. I think your bagel bites are ready, Gene.
