Miami and head coach Mario Cristobal are making waves in the transfer portal, securing three commitments in just three days, with the latest being Tennessee defensive back transfer JaKobe Thomas.
The native of Tullahoma, Tennessee, selected the Hurricanes as his choice over Florida State.
The defensive back from Tennessee just finished a visit to Miami this week, and it went well since he made his pledge to Miami days after.
The 6'2", 200-pound safety made 22 tackles in 12 games for the Vols last year. Before joining Tennessee for his junior year, he played at Middle Tennessee State, where he racked up 108 tackles over two seasons. He also had eight pass deflections and four interceptions.
Coming out of Tullahoma High, he was rated as a three-star prospect according to the 247Sports rankings. He was also ranked as the No. 183 safety in the class.
Last season, Thomas played in 263 snaps for the Volunteers and was seen as a potential starter before transferring, joining an impressive recruiting class led by Mario Cristobal.
