Meesh wasn’t terrible but he was played out of position. Hes more of a nickel. Poyser and Thomas are better true safeties. Could probably throw Day in that conversation with the growth/development he has had since then.

You’re not allowed to evaluate the spring portal haul independently, you have to consolidate it with the fall haul. Otherwise, you’ll be called an idiot on this board.
 
Lol at some of the hate in here. Of course I wish we got a little more. But the winter and spring portal classes did a great job addressing our two biggest question marks: replacing Cam and flipping the DB room. Some of you are just unrealistic. This team unquestionably has enough if Beck is a top 5-10 QB in the country.

Thats why I believe they would like haulcy and Thomas. Haulcy would probably play more nickel. Would be a good spot for brown too but I guess he just wants to be a outside guy

That’s why we need Scott as well. He’s exactly what Hetherman wants as the nickel.

Not true! Mario neglected the secondary in the portal last season as you can tell by the portal additions. He knew it and even apologized to Guidry. Guidry tried to make is work but his style of defense was going to get exposed based on our personnel, as it did! then the injuries didnt help.

Portal rankings are a joke. They’re nothing like HS.

Remember Cormani McClain was a 5* portal acquisition for Florida? They just recycle HS rankings and inflate them; anyone that cites them for success or failure is lazy and doesn’t do their own due diligence. They should be taken into consideration, but certainly not validation. Was our portal class really 6th in 2023? **** no.

UNC is top 10 in the portal rankings but they brought in 32 players. Mississippi state is top 20 but they brought in 33 players.

Look at the additions with your own two eyes (not you, just saying “you” to the board in general). Make your own evaluations instead of taking the words of Wiltfong and Ivins, the guys this board loveeeeesss to **** on for crystal balls and recruiting updates, now all of a sudden as the gospel.
