These UGA guys talking like they wouldn't immediately jump at a job with a better salary to do their same work under a more qualified boss.

Hypocrites.

I get the premise and agree, but it isn't a direct comparison.

Until we show we're a fortune 500 company producing multiple NFL draft prospects who produce at that level, then we have to pay more. You do that by keeping productive or promising players, that build on that, and then you can offer less down the road.

UGA can afford to not pay top pay as long as they continue to win on the field and have draft picks. They have a roster loaded top to bottom with talent and a miss like this doesn't matter today. Down the road, if we keep building, then we'll see.

Anyhow, awesome pickup. Comical at best how his ranking dropped, so silly.

What’s annoying about this isn’t whether you think Cantwell is the #1 OL or not. Literally nothing has changed though. If you thought he was #1 in the winter then he’s #1 in the summer
actually, the market also spoke. There's a reason teams like Oregon , Georgia, OSU and UM were throwing Millions at this kid. Just maybe Mirabal and Mario know more about OL play than Ivins.

I was actually gonna say that as well. If it was down to OSU/UGA/Oregon/Miami then what else needs to be said?

OSU people I know talked a little trash to me the day after the championship game when they said yeah Day is on his way to see Cantwell right now

One of the biggest recruiting wins we’ve ever had for sure

Until they realize their boss will be Mike Bobo and Stacey Searles....then it dawns on them

that's all well and good but my point was if Cantwell wants to experience the NCAAF playoffs and everything that comes with it if he transfers to a Bama or UGA after a year or two he will still get his $2.5 million AND be a top 5 pick while getting the SEC and big time college football experience.

Stop behaving like a passive-aggressive jackass.

You know **** well that the subtext of your smarmy comments is that Miami can't make the playoffs and Miami will never win a championship.

And then you are advocating that Cantwell go to one of two schools that have each only made the playoffs once in the past two years and are 0-2 collectively in the last two playoffs.

Go back to "not posting". Everything was better that way.

The variable you're missing is these post season camps (AA invite practices, etc). I believe that's the big reason for the update in rankings.

It was a rhetorical comment I’m not missing anything. Camps don’t mean anything when guys are in shorts

If you watched Jackson at the all star games and thought he was #1 then, he’s still #1 now

So I know the variables I just think it’s dumb

WHAT?

What post-season camps have been held where offensive linemen performed? As I have pointed out, the 7-on-7 stuff doesn't involve offensive and defensive linemen in pads.

Nothing of any value has happened. Nothing.

Since his tackle football season ended, tell me what Jackson Cantwell has done poorly, and what other OLs have done better. I'll wait.

The reality is, all of the rating services should pause the "updates" between the end of football season and the beginning of the next football season. Prior to the next football season, they could evaluate 7 or 8 months of physical growth, off-season events such as the Elite 11, and any other VALID measures, such as performances at university-sponsored events ("Friday Night Lights") or apparel-sponsored regional events (Nike camps).

But all the ranking services feel the need to drive clicks in the off-season, issuing multiple breathless "updates" when nothing has actually happened.

Top juniors participated in AA game practices (Navy one, for example). Jackson did.

I'm not saying that's the reason, I'm speculating.

I understand.

It's just way too much 247 ******* around.

Particularly when Ivins makes THIS claim:

An all-star game coming right after football season can be a ****-show. A lot of guys are nursing injuries and participation is inconsistent.

But 247 needs to drive clicks. I get it. Doesn't mean they should be "tweaking" so frequently, though, as if they have "new information" after months of off-season inactivity.

I have no idea who you are, or what makes you "original" but you couldn't be more wrong. Anyways, please keep this thread on topic about Cantwell and his family, NOT personal attacks on me just because I have a different opinion.

It's not a personal attack. You are fake-pretending like you don't know why people are disagreeing with you. I explained it for you so that you can no longer fake-claim ignorance on the subject.

You have made post after post after post that remixes and rehashes your first post, while claiming not to know why your first post was wrong.

The reason that people think you are a troll is because you passive-aggressively said that Miami would not ever make the playoffs, and that if Cantwell wanted to be in the playoffs, he was better off going to Alabama or Georgia.

And then you Urkel-pretended like you didn't understand why people would have a problem with that.

Again...POST LESS.

Listen son, you are going on ignore. Just because you disagree with me does NOT mean I am "fake pretending" or "trolling" everything I said was 100% fact and or also my opinion and I'd like to see you actually mention a specific thing I said that isn't true. But you won't.

Living in SEC country, fans of blue blood football pretend like they want this but they don’t. It would literally topple the power structure and limit smaller market teams. They are legit scared of the big bad private school every kid wants to go to or at least visit. They **** ride FSU and Florida in hopes they keep Miami at bay because it’s easier to compete with Tallahassee and Gainesville. Miami will continue to gain steam until we see them blatantly enforce policy against them. Harder to do that now, though.

It's a fact that Cantwell will jump in the portal after collecting $2.5 million from us?

Ooooh, what a threat.

Your response is such a joke.

Nothing you said was a fact. Your post was 100% opinion. And it was a passive-aggressive "Miami sucks" opinion. You literally said that Cantwell should spend 1-2 years in Miami "resting" or "possibly redshirting", and then transfer to an SEC school to "enjoy that college atmosphere" and to make the "NCAAF playoffs".

The entirety of the post in question is shown below, and is entirely a passive-aggressive Miami insult. You've had plenty of time to amend that post if you expressed yourself poorly. But you haven't done that. You've doubled and tripled down by claiming that the veiled insult is somehow "correct" or "factual". And that's what a troll does.

I don't care if you "put me on ignore", but my assessment of your post and subsequent "defenses" is completely fair and accurate. You are extending your time on the board with an ever-shifting "did I do that?" act, as if you can't comprehend what you meant with your first post.

Move along "son".
