You’re right that our depth is not close at all to Clemson, Baga, or Oklahoma. We are there, talent wise, with ND, however. With the right staff, this could absolutely be an 11-2 or 10-3 team year one and build a CFP/National Championship contender over a couple of recruiting classes.

All we need to do is be aggressive and innovative. If this hire fits that mold, the wins and recruits will come.
we can do that I agree we can win 10, but we will always never take that next step because if we fail on elite prospects and let saban do what he wants and UGA. What they do effects us immediately and those impacts u cant recover from IMO

Actually he has 7+ yrs of experience as a college coach. If/When they do the proper vetting,...they can fairly easily come to a conclusion on his college game prowess.

Might as well talk Richt out of retirement. Offense will rank about the same. Conservative defensive coach is the last thing we need.

He was forced to fire Golden and didn't put any real pressure on Richt after this atrocious season. As happy as I am about Richt retiring, I wish that announcement would have been made due to James being fired.

I hear you. I just think we were justrightthere with this current staff from getting our share from Baga and UGA, etc. had we paired a 45ppg offense with Manny’s D and this past season had gone 11-1 or 12-0 with a reasonable loss to Clemson in the ACCCG, we’d be looking at a different universe, perception and recruiting wise.

We don’t need all 5 stars to get to a high level. First, we need to get to that level, then we need to win those elite battles for the Juedy’s and Surtain’s. You have to stand up to the bully.

That’s why we need an assassin with no fear and a healthy dose of ego. Someone from or close to the Belichick/Saban/Meyer tree, who knows how things are done and knows what it takes to get them done. An energetic guy who sees the world for what it is and not what he wishes it to be. An X’s and O’s Visionary who can take his and beat you, and then take yours and beat you even worse.

It’s a problem when you want the AD to step completely the **** out of the way because you’re worried about him ******* up the hire again.

the dude in the 2nd row looks like Sloth from the Goonies.

I think Richt retired over pressure to fire Jon tbh
At this point, it's all speculation. What we know from the press conference is that James said there was no push towards removing Richt. Richt agreed that "changes" needed to be made. You can't get more vague than that.

What the ***!!!! you yapping about! Serious dude. It's obvious you had some type of ANIMOSITY towards Coach Diaz. Do you realize the PIZZ POOR field position Miami's defense was put in, time after time after time after time. And what about the ATROCIOUS special teams which put an IMMENSE burden on Coach Diaz's defense. Again, time after time after time after time.

It's also a post modern day MIRACLE that Miami's defense NEVER gave up and threw in the proverbial Orange and Green towel. Otherwise, YOU and your horde of Cane minions would be staring at a LOSING RECORD right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now get the FUNK outta' my visage!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Preach Brother Preach!!!

It's ridiculous to talk of win totals as some arbitrary, impenetrable ceiling, especially in the ACC - easily the worst Power 5 conference. A good coach at Miami should be able to win every game in this conference once he has his pieces in place.

Yup. Especially when you consider that even if that blind squirrel somehow accidentally stumbles upon (and recognizes) that golden nut, he's likely to do all the wrong things and alienate the new coach.
