That’s not the point dude. He’s third string RB who plays behind two superstars on a top 10 team. When his number was called, he made the most of it and played well. He’s RB1 on a CFP next season.
The point is who have they played against, it’s the same idea when evaluating a team. You apply the same concept to a player. Price and Love were really good rbs. Williams being rb1 has nothing to do with him alone being able to replace what Love and Price provided for that offense. That’s my point.

No, your point is: Williams isn’t any good because he only played well vs bad teams.

My point is: Williams 3rd string RB on a team with CFP goals and two RBs ahead of him on the depth chart that happened to be two of the best RBs in the country. But when he got his chance, he played great. He’s next up now that the two RBs in front of him have left.

No my point is he’s not replacing Love and Price. U used the fact that he avg 9ypc means something. I’m letting u know it doesn’t mean anything in the grand scheme of things.

None of their best playmakers return and u expect me to believe that they’ll be better on offense?

I think their defense will be much improved personally… they did well defensively in portal imo. And offense they got some young talent at WR from Ohio st just unproven yet. But I think both were former 5stars, right? So tbd. But Carr may be what top 3-5 qb returning in CFB next yr? Oline I think ND generally can be expected to have a good OLine. And outside of their performance against us they seem to have been quite good…
If you consider schedule, you can see why ND might be expected to wind up top 5.

The blue-chip ratio does not mean s***.

I scored in the 99th percentile in reading comprehension.

There are a lot of morons on this board and you are at the top of the list.
It in fact does mean ****. It highly correlates to highly competitive teams because it’s about the Jimmies and the Joes.

However, it’s not the end all be all.

Keep in mind lowly non 4* players can become blue chips in the transfer portal.

Actually the blue chip ratio means a ton. It's been proven statistically many times over that there is a direct correlation with blue chip ratio / star rankings and winning.

Congrats on your 99th percentile in reading.

I don't remember claiming that ND will be better on offense. I've posted a lot on this thread about preseason rankings, so can you quote me or point me to the post where I said ND will be better on offense than this past season?

But I certainly think they will be a preseason top 10 team with a schedule that will allow them to remain in the CFP hunt (especially considering their agreement with the CFP). I think Carr will be significantly better than this past season and Greathouse should be back healthy. Also, they return nearly their entire defense with some interesting portal additions.

Under Freeman, ND has had big time production from their backs. It's almost as if under Freeman, they produce good seasons on the ground.

Love and Price.

Yeah I am surprised Pate drank the Kool Aid. He seems to be pretty astute about football but it’s odd that he expresses doubts about other teams but not the one that ran through a pathetic schedule after losing to the only 2 good teams they played, and then quit at the end of the season because things didn’t go their way.

I know I am being a homer here but any person who knows football knows that a Cristobal team is going to have a good offensive line. And on defense we have four 5 stars plus studs from the portal. whatever UM lost is more than made up for by Mensah being a massive upgrade over Beck. Miami got exponentially better at QB and skill position players.

I don’t think we take a step back but I can understand thinking it will be 90% of the 2025 team.

Using Steiner math-

90% trenches is 10% less than 2025, but Mensah is 15% better than Beck, and skill players are 10% better. Thats comes out to 115%. That means Miami 2026 team is 15% better than the 2025 team. Miami already had a 1/3 chance of playing for the title. Now add that 15% , it gives Miami a 48 1/3 chance of winning a national championship in 2026.

I like your arithmetic.

I had a pencil - somewhere - maybe later I'll look for it. Maybe not.

after watching Oregon's last game, how are they in anyones Top10?????
