He played his jr and sr yr at Glades. And that was dumbass Shannon shooting at straws. Golden, I'm surprised he is taking a chance as he has plenty of proven guys he can recruit...

clive walford comes to mind... he didn't play football until his senior year, either right?

How long did it take for him to come into his own...
I am just asking especially when DE is a position where we do not have a legit pass rusher
YET!!!

How about he ends up a TE and all this is pointless?

But seriously most BCS teams would kill to have our depth chart next year at DE, as far as young talent goes. What's the obsession with instant impact? These guys don't play this year. Not that it isn't needed but are here really a line of guys wanting to come to Miami you would take over McCord, Hamilton, AQM, Hoilett right now?

How many sacks did we have last year?

And how many sacks is a 2014 kid going to have this year, genius?

Lets pump our brakes. These coaches have first hand knowledge and contact with these kids and their coaches. so lets stop pretending we know more than they. Football is about numbers, competiveness and development. He obviously has superb potential abd if you read between the line could be a bonus in bringing in Thomas and Patten. Remember Valentine lurking

Golden has to see sonething in him to offer just off his spring tape. i dont see golden wasting scollies.

The Miami teams of the 80's were built by hungry unknown guys like Jackson. People need to calm down & let everything shake out for now

freak athlete can be made in to a beast so everyone calm down and if he is 220 or something close to that right now just starting to lift for football he will put on LBS everyone needs to stop trust the Tie and CO.

I think we're trying too hard to be the smartest guys in the room with some of our recent commits.
You could be on to something. Only thing I can really say is these guys have been very consistent with the types of athletes they recruit. Only time will be able to tell the story though.

Other people have echoed this but I just don't think we are in a position to be taking on projects on the Defensive Line. You want to offer some 6'5 WR who is a converted basketball player? Fine, we have depth there and a miss wouldn't hurt. We need immediate help on the D-Line.

5 year rebuild. Relax

What college program gives you 5 full years to rebuild you get 3 at best to show what you got and then fans knock on the door and ask for the coaches head

YOur an idiot ...we don't have the depth chart to take projects that have not played since 8th grade but I forgot you know it all
and that's why we are looking for some Juco help I guess

The BTW relationship is tenuous at best after last signing day. If the coaches were to try to pull this kids offer when they think someone better comes along.....holy ****.

We don't seem to have a problem recruiting at BTW this year and I don't think the relationship is tenuous at all. Ice was emotional around signing day, at this point he probably wishes he hadn't done what he did.

He sent both his kid to Miami, one who is on the BTW staff, and he has sent plenty of BTW kids here. He understands the game, if Jackson disappoints this year I don't think it would be a problem dropping him.

So what you're saying is that we can and should pull the rug from underneath this BTW kid if he falls on his face in the fall, right? That's the approach here?

We're making an an early offer on a guy based on one spring game????? Sounds somewhat absurd, especially given that it appears the other team was massively overmatched.

So what happens if this guy has a terrible fall? We're stuck. This just seems off to me.

Yes because recruiting isn't fluid. Once you commit its over for the player and the school.

I'm saying that is a possibility just like hundreds of things are when it comes to recruiting.

We pulled the rug on Kirkland, doesn't seem to have effected 2014 recruiting at BTW.

need to see more....but not a fan of this pickup at the moment.

Quay Bain started playin football his junior year and now is enrolled at LSU. He used to only play basketball & he's not as athletic as Demetrius. I'm going to reserve judgement till after the season

Golden is a TE junkie as well. We've brought in some good TEs that will keep us going for a while so its possible we have multiple positions in mind.
