Good comp. I had always heard Robert Quinn when Damon was at Georgia
Good stuff re: Quinn. Same type of guy and build. I’m far from an OL/DL technical expert, but you can see from his Missouri film that Mesidor and Bain use their hands and dips better than Wilson.

If Wilson gets those feet right around the Edge, he’s a pure nightmare. Was watching Mesidor’s foot plant and dip compared to just a couple years ago, and he went from very good to a demon.

Hope this Wilson dude puts in similar work.

Moten isn't stout?
Hes a 3 tech. He and Moten are fantastic for Heathermen's defense with 4i and 3is.

Playing zero in an odd front is a different animal, double and triples all day and you're a fridge magnet.

Haloti Ngata for the Ravens, previously Oregon is the exact example. He's retired now, but that guy was a skyscraper that played like a fire hydrant.

Watched his Missouri highlights and he got 9 sacks with pretty much a speed rush. JT is going to make him into a more complete DE.
Right like let’s be honest if he was a complete pass rusher DE at this point he would be in the draft

Still a long ways to go but he’s got a ton of upside for sure

Man him, lightfoot, Lowe (and others). Hard to find snaps for them all and that’s an insanely good problem to have. Guy gonna eat in the messidor role

Yeah weird names for stuff, that's been around forever.

It's an Odd front with a jack LB, think when Alabama had Will Anderson at end.

They had a Nose or 0Tech with two 5 Techs, with a wide 9 on which ever side, with two monster linebackers playing at 20 position (i.e., head up on guards with depth) with a "Sam" or "Nickel" LB/DB roaming around. Ideally you'd had a Strong Safety who plays the similar roles (like Jakobe Thomas) who likes to play downhill and thump. Think James Harrison LB with the Steelers. , he was a 5 tech!

Downfall of this is you give up big bubbles to the run game, and your NT has to be very stout, which we don't have, but it be a nice change of pace.
I wouldn't say this is a full changeover.
I like this style of defense he's running, its sound schematically most of the time and has answers for its own weakness.
We absolutely have to find more opportunities for mixing fronts and potentially odd fronts, because it unleashes Lightfoot to his best. Problem is we don’t seem to recruit or want the traditional 0, so we’d have to play it more like the cowboys defense with Jay Ratliffe.

Nonetheless, the point is there are a ton of talented guys now on that front and Hetherman can find more ways to terrorize the offense.

If heeetheman ever leaves we need offer JT the d cord position. . He can recruit and develop with the best of them
