Darrell Jackson DT commits to Miami

this whole influx of talent is an indictment on the previous staff and their recruiting/development
I said this in a now defunct thread. Getting this guy is awesome and all...but man, what did Mario think of the crop he inherited along the lines?

This man literally has added 5 defensive linemen/edge players (Lichtenstein, Moultrie, Agude, Mesidor, and now Jackson) and would likely add more. Also adding 2 offensive linemen, and I am pretty sure he would have taken more already, but those players went elsewhere and I think we'll still get some more on the OL.

Cupboard was BARE and its clear Mario was pretty disgusted with what he saw on this roster. Not even CLOSE to par.

I will say this...

Akheem Mesidor - Leonard Taylor - Darrell Jackson - Mitchell Agude is a starting line that fvcks.

Having guys like Scott Patchan Jacob Lichtenstein, Moultrie, to then mix in with others now turns the iDL/EDGE room into a strength, IMO.

We could use a *** cruise ad around here right about now!
summon Papi Tigre from the WEZ., he's a pro at anything and everything ***. ****, he is even mimicking Mario and now says: how we do *** anything is how we do *** everything.

It would be entertaining to pull receipts from a year ago when most of the board claimed NIL would only benefit the biggest bag schools and essentially meant the end of UM football. There was a small group of us that were ridiculed for saying that NIL would actually give UM a chance to level the playing field with all the LEGAL money that could now be offered to players.
I’ve wanted to start a thread on this topic but I’m not petty like that. NIL deals are a huge boon for schools with wealthy donor bases that play in metro areas. Is UM buying up recruits to the extent that Texas A&M is? Not quite but it sure is nice to be able offer kids something instead of nothing. When Nick Saban says the system is “unsustainable” he means it’s unsustainable for Alabama to try to keep up.

The game has moved more to the spread. However, one thing has not changed. The game is truly won in the trenches. Mario seems like he knows that's where you need to really focus your attention. OL and DL upgrades all over.
First real thing I learned about FB was this. No trenches, no winning.

I think it was 04-06 when this started to show with us.. as I remember it after the 99-03 run.

Every year since, I've read the XO guys' upcoming year's assessments and just knowing we weren't elite or even close on either side of the line meant all the skill and other position battles were ancillary and helped the mope in me grow, cause I knew we had that 7-9 range a comin - corching notwithstanding.

Corchin, trenches, and QB are the basis of the elite in fb if I am not off-base.

A very good friend of mine owns multiple Tijuana Flats (which is legal, unlike "owning" multiple Chick Fil-As, which is simply not allowed). Although he went to UCF with the founder of the company, he grew up in Miami, is a huge UM fan, and has multiple family members who are alums.
Does he still own them. I was told that the original owner bought all the franchise back. Or that he no longer sells franchises. Something like that.

The founder may have bought some franchises, but definitely not all of them. For a while, a couple of the TF execs were ex-PF-Changs guys, and they were trying to open all new stores as "company stores". Did not go over well.

TF is back to franchising. I'll send you a DM with some more Orlando details.

Not even that, Saban means that the system is “unsustainable” for Alabama to have a clear-cut advantage. Like I said in another thread, Saban/Bammer don’t want a level playing field, they don’t want anything close to a level playing field.

Fūck those hillbillies.

Yeah I think it was hard to envision us actually using our resources a year ago

People that suggest it now are gonna get steamrolled

It’s a beautiful thing

ALL OF THIS

That “unsustainable” **** was the most beta thing I’ve ever heard. Imagine saying that about a completely corrupt system that you’ve been manipulating for years, and others have been doing for decades?

It’s just him desperately trying to hang on to their advantages, which I guess I can’t blame him, but those days are over buddy
