Idiots round here think this money is going to end up with the football program need to get a colonoscopy and have their heads examined.

This money will go to "athletics" and then an equal amount of the current monies that are going into "athletics" will be removed from the "athletics" budget never to be seen or heard from again.

The only positive out of this deal for the football team is that we don't have to wear those clown abortion suits we wore this last season.

@darrenrovell: Miami deal w/Adidas is worth in between $4-$5M a year in cash + $4-$5M a year in product for a period of 12 years.

So it could possibly mean 10 million a year, so 120 million?

Holy ****

@jgeer14: @darrenrovell does this eclipse Michigan's deal? Adidas would then have to offer Michigan more money based on their contract.

@darrenrovell: @jgeer14 told it doesn’t

Michigan gets 8.2 annual (3.8 in cash and 4.4 in apparel)

"If during the Term, adidas grants to or contracts with any college or university ... that provides for more favorable average annual value ... than the current University (of Michigan) average annual value specified in this Agreement ... then adidas agrees to make a written offer to grant to the University that same more favorable average annual value on the same terms and conditions that were offered to the other college or university within thirty (30) days of the execution of such other agreement."

since neither me or you facts or some sort of leaked emails regarding how the money will be distributed.. its best not to name call and let it play out.. either way more money = more possibilities and more money = higher expectations by the sponsors.

I disagree wholeheartedly. More money means the same money for football. That schit will get spread all over the campus like Miley Cyrus' herps.

Media need to start immediately asking how much of this money will go towards football!!!! Since Golden is not getting fired (this year) attention temporarily need to be turned towards where this money will be spent.

Reminds me of when all the saps praised Donna for getting us into the ACC.

Guaranteed money regardless of performance has been the death of this program. Socialist handouts destroy the necessity of putting a good product out. Adidas is paying is gobs of guaranteed money for 12 years. So for 12 years, we don't have to be good and we still get free money.

This deal is another in the long line of finding ways to fund athletics without having to field a good football team. The nerds strike again.

Adidas needs to sign up my tennis team to a sweet contract now. We've been repping The U and Adidas this year! lol10682370_1480215608898418_7709397184526743402_o.jpg

Bas ***! Does that say Hurricanes on the left side?

The business sense or lack thereof is mind boggling. The football program generates significant income under the current **** show. If money is not re-invested wisely using a substantial amount to hire a new coach (leader) they will kill the goose that has laid the golden egg while destroying the brand while generating approximately $100,000,000 in revenue.

The brand created and built by the football program has been expanded to U Health and if the program recovers it becomes a more valuable asset, while again collecting $100,000,000. The U has the opportunity, if the football team succeeds to have opportunities with Adida, however, if the **** show continues the U will fall into oblivion and those opportunities and monies derived will be flushed down the toilet.

This deal is another in the long line of finding ways to fund athletics without having to field a good football team, cheap and stupid.
This University has had no vision or business sense since football began and it continues today, example no stadium and no orange bowl.

It is a sad state of affairs, but since we are #renewed all will be good, marketed by the U prior to last season. Next year it will be #revival

Any estimate of how much more this is than nike?
3 or 4 times more....

Source

ESPN and the school said the adidas offer was multiple times more than nike.

Post a link.

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/s...trike-12-year-merchandise-marketing-agreement

A person familiar with the contract terms told The Associated Press that the deal is worth "multiple times" more than Miami's previous arrangement with Nike, which chose not to match Adidas' offer. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because neither side authorized the release of specific financial terms.

we weren't getting potentially 120 million from Nike no matter what. great deal for UM
