Couple things on Adidas deal

Couple things on Adidas deal

Here are a few interesting tidbits on the new deal...

**I'm told that Adidas has plans to make Miami the "Oregon" of their company. They will try a lot of new things with us, have a bunch of uniform combos stacked up for big games, and really try to push Miami into the forefront of their marketing campaign.

**People in the know hinted at the fact that Nike had become complacent with Miami. They weren't sending as much stuff as they had in the past and as a result, players would have to wear game-used materials. Schools like Florida State, Alabama, Clemson, etc. would get new shipments almost weekly. This did not sit well with Miami. (of course, money also plays a factor in this)

**As far as the designs go, I've heard Adidas will try to model the base uniforms after the 1980's. Mostly one color (orange, white, green) with the stripe around the sleeves.

**I have also heard of a black cleat concept with the eye of a hurricane popping out on the side of the shoe, which would look very cool.

Ultimately I still disagree with the switch, but it's one of those things that we would care less about if the state of the program was different. I also don't think it will "hurt" recruiting like some have suspected it will. Kids like new things, and Adidas will certainly be pushing to make Miami look different.

Those UHealth polos gonna look fresh with 3 stripes on the sleeve.

Why do you still disagree with the switch? It was clear from our "new" uniforms, that we weren't a priority for Nike. I'm down with Adidas, it's going to be dope.

Why would Nike worry about a team with 7 losses and a program who has become irrelevant. Like everything, winning cures it all.

Thanks for the info, but this is so ancillary to the woeful state of the program, given the BOT's failure to fulfill its responsibility and do the obvious: fire our incompetent coach. It's hard to care about uniforms, knowing our program will only produce worse and worse results on the field as long as Golden is in charge.

You can disagree Pete, but there is rumor this is paying the school 7-8 million a year. If thats true, that is huge and really was a no-brainer for Miami

At this point in time, I'll take any change surrounding the program. Excited to see more new unis, just please don't **** up the helmets.

Let's assume your "RUMORS" are true.

1. How much of that is cash?

2. How do we know this will be spent on athletics?

These statements don't seem to work together. I recognize you said "base" uniforms in the second part, but still.

'Oregon, lots of new things, bunch of combos' seems far from 'simple, mostly one color base unis.'

At least we'll look good while we get our **** pushed in by the likes of Pitt, Syracuse and GT.

Nike is clearly a smarter organization than Adidas. Nike de-emphasized us because we are garbage and irrelevant.

LULZ at Adidas looking to feature a 6-7 team and make UM their Oregon. Who's running Adidas? Someone who died in 2003?

This site will love the new base uniforms. We may wear them only once though so be prepared for that.
