Whatever. Fire Al Golden and then we can discuss uniforms.

It sounds like they saw those old student concepts with the black cleat and hurricane eye.

Nike is clearly a smarter organization than Adidas. Nike de-emphasized us because we are garbage and irrelevant.

LULZ at Adidas looking to feature a 6-7 team and make UM their Oregon. Who's running Adidas? Someone who died in 2003?

Nike made Oregon way before they were good. Money helps. I'm still on team #FireGolden but that doesn't make this a bad deal either.

BUY LOW SELL HIGH -

If and when things turn around for our team, this could be an inexpensive deal for Adidas

Pete you stated
"players would have to wear game-used materials. Schools like Florida State, Alabama, Clemson, etc. would get new shipments almost weekly." and then
"Ultimately I still disagree with the switch"

so you want our players to wear used gear/uniforms and be treated as a red headed step child because "nike" ?

f_uck that! our brand is still dope regardless and this will bring boat loads of money that we need and hopefully use it to not only have a better coach but pay for good assist. coaches as well

one other big point I want to make.. Adidas is INVESTING in The U and trust me just like Nike with Oregon they are going to want wins and bowl wins and playoff appearances.. big money talks

This is pure business. IMO, Sounds like Adidas wants Miami to be the flagship of their equipment/uniforms. I don't think they will **** this up. A lot of thinking and creativity will go into the U. We will be a reason Adidas grabs more schools once they see what they do with us.

I like the idea of having a lot of random combos for prime time games. Not like this past year where you do have a bunch of different options but they are all the same. I think Adidas will have a completely different unis then what they come up with for just our traditional ones we will wear 80% of the time.

I heard that this puts us in the top 3 among collegiate sponsorships.

Now snoop is backing them and posted this you think recruits care who puts the logo on the uniform? Are they dope? Do we get upgrades and cool schit? Are we going to be the bell cow of the brand? Cool I am with it. Adidas is putting more energy and trying harder than our own **** admin to make The U.

Why would Nike worry about a team with 7 losses and a program who has become irrelevant. Like everything, winning cures it all.

This

Nike don't give a *** about um because nike knows um dont give a *** about um football

Smart for Adidas. Be our sponsor once we get rid of Golden and become a dominant team again

All of this has been a pleasant surprise. It's almost overwhelming. I'm sold.

wait how can we be the "Oregon of adidas" and have a basic design like the 1980's Miami? Not that I don't like the old design but seems like those uniforms and Oregon don't go together.

Glitter in the cleats? Oh goodness.

Adidas better bring it.

And lol at 80's design and being their Oregon. This going to be good.

Here are a few interesting tidbits on the new deal...

**I'm told that Adidas has plans to make Miami the "Oregon" of their company. They will try a lot of new things with us, have a bunch of uniform combos stacked up for big games, and really try to push Miami into the forefront of their marketing campaign.

**People inside the equipment room hinted at the fact that Nike had become complacent with Miami. They weren't sending as much stuff as they had in the past and as a result, players would have to wear game-used materials. Schools like Florida State, Alabama, Clemson, etc. would get new shipments almost weekly. This did not sit well with Miami. (of course, money also plays a factor in this)

**As far as the designs go, I've heard Adidas will try to model the base uniforms after the 1980's. Mostly one color (orange, white, green) with the stripe around the sleeves.

**I have also heard of a black cleat concept with the eye of a hurricane popping out on the side of the shoe, which would look very cool.

Ultimately I still disagree with the switch, but it's one of those things that we would care less about if the state of the program was different. I also don't think it will "hurt" recruiting like some have suspected it will. Kids like new things, and Adidas will certainly be pushing to make Miami look different.

You can disagree Pete, but there is rumor this is paying the school 7-8 million a year. If thats true, that is huge and really was a no-brainer for Miami

Let's assume your "RUMORS" are true.

1. How much of that is cash?

2. How do we know this will be spent on athletics?

Not MY rumor. I didn't make up that figure

How do they plan on making us 80s style uniforms while simultaneously planning to make us their Oregon? Those two statements don't jive. Bull**** detector is ringing loudly.

The U brand will always be relevant no matter what the record

Im going to show some concern like consig mentioned, im curious as to how they will use this money, i hope it would be for the athletics but with how the BOT and admin been using the athletic fund and im a little concerned

Interesting, but I do question their making Miami a total focal point. That info would never get out and even if it did I would assume they tell every program they sponsor the same thing.

Yeah. That made zero sense.
