Like i told yall years ago about DVD is coming to fruition....it will again next class as well considering a few of the kids we personally coached when they were like 10-11.
DVD just a good dude. That pays off.
Sat with DVD's mom and family yearsssss ago for a game. She actually had a jersey that said "DVD's Mom" on the nameplate. Her and the family were all great people. Glad but not surprised that DVD is doing well and blowing up now.

That 2 year haul at DB is unlike anything we've had since 2000. TVD has been a major factor here and is more than deserving of a nice Christmas bonus.
If coaches can't turn that group into a STELLAR DB group, idk what to say...... Lets hope they go on another back to back to back NFL studs run!!!

We need to keep DVD on staff at all cost.
He’s putting in work and getting results, he needs a promotion.
He wants to be an on the field coach. He's going to get some phone calls if hasn't already.

Addae wants to be a DC. Perhaps whenever Steele is done or the next position coach shuffle. Maybe everyone moves up and DVD coaches the corners.

This commit plus Jackson re-classifying tells us all we need to know about Mario’s vision.
Unfortunately 2022 is a wasted season, and Mario is letting the recruits know as much. He has effectively sold them on being the class that takes over in the locker room and on the field. And if they are the hard workers that we have been lead to believe they are, then they will do exactly that, and very few jobs will be safe next year.
We need some interior d-linemen (though that may come in the portal), and Samson, and a quality RB. And the class is ready to roll.

Y'all got this wrong just like Gator fans and a lot of the media.

Yes, Cormani is likely getting an NIL deal. He could get that anywhere.

It's DVD. He's the one that built the relationship with Cormani and his Mom.

Kam Kitchens' dad was on Footballville and he said DVD brought his son to Miami. He said the day before he announced his dad thought Kam was going to Auburn. Banda tried to take credit for it and his dad did an interview at that time to set the record straight. Seems like Banda took a lot of credit for DVD's work. Footballville all knew DVD had built a relationship with Cormani's mom giving her confidence in her son going to Miami.

Everyone keeps pointing to Ruiz. Yes, the money is there, but the fact is these guys could get the money anywhere. Saying it's all Ruiz is just lazy. The staff is putting in the work building relationships.

Our rival fans will just point to Miami buying players. We are competing on a level playing field that Florida, CLemson, UGA, Bama, and the rest all have. We have recruiters that can build relationships and close. That's the deal.

Truth.

I credit "Ruiz's checkbook" for getting us back into the game, on a level playing field.

But "Ruiz's checkbook" is not what is winning these battles.

Its a business filled with frauds and used car salesmen. Mario, DVD and some others are going to kill it over time in SFLA hopefully. Yes some will still be out for the money and we wont always match...but those are the kids we may not want to match anyway. Even the parents who may have their hands out if they are truly paying attention will see through most of these guys after sitting down with Mario who when you hear interviews and stories sounds like there is no fluff and a guy who truly cares. Its why out of all the corny things you see its those moments like Norvell jumping on Mims and being to over the top. It looked desperate. He might be a nice guy same with Napier. But they just look to be putting on an act. Kids and parents will see through that.

Hate or Love Saban I think when you sit down with him he probably gives the old Miami speech in a sense. We want you, but we dont need you. We will make you better but its not going to be easy. If you dont uphold your end you will be looking for a new home. But we will give you every tool you need to succeed its what you do with them that will determine your future. I think Mario is the same but with a bit of a true family feel which Miami has always had with guys coming back and the brotherhood.

It's all about being authentic.

It's why we ultimately couldn't close with Shemar among other things. His handler was a phony clown and can't relate to real.

Little details like the whole birthday card thing matter to folks like Cormani's ppl. That didn't close the deal, but it has a cumulative effect.

It's why I think, we're not out of it for guys like Innis.
speaking of phonies.... I hope mario stuffs him in a locker next...
