BYU WR transfer Keelan Marion commits to Miami

Make that three transfer portal commits in one day for the Hurricanes.

On Saturday afternoon, transfer wide receiver Keelan Marion announced his commitment to Miami. After visiting UM earlier this week, he is now the 13th addition from the transfer portal for the Hurricanes this offseason.

The 6-foot, 195-pound wide receiver from Atlanta, Georgia, committed to Miami, choosing them over interest from Arizona State, SMU, Kentucky, Colorado, Notre Dame, Penn State, Baylor, Virginia Tech, Ohio State, and FSU, among others.

Marion recorded 24 catches for 346 yards and scored one touchdown last season. He rushed for 96 yards on 21 attempts. He received All-American recognition for his kick returns, averaging 26.2 yards per return, and racked up two touchdowns on kick returns.

Marion began his journey at UConn, where during his first year, he made 28 catches for 474 yards and scored 5 touchdowns. After spending two seasons at BYU, he is now entering the transfer portal.

Versatile players are worth their weight in gold. Miami hasn't had an explosive kick returner in years, this young man should fill that role. If he can find a way to break into the rotation at receiver, that's even more value. I'm good with this take.

Great special teams addition, good depth, and adds dynamic deep threat ability to the offense. Looks like he takes handoffs too. Solid weapon to have for Dawson.

Miami fans are the only fans in this history of fandom to complain about an All American at a position of need. Complain about special teams and complain about Ray Ray… Mario adds an All American returner and the Miami Fan Coaches Association immediately ***** on it.
