The logic makes sense when you put trajectory into it. That 2028 class is based on how good those sophomores got before their junior year.
He was #1 next year based off the expected jump his junior to senior year (based off his ceiling as a sophomore).

Yep and we all see that it means nothing considering they dropped Mali to a 3* after reclass. We know Sears’s ceiling is top tier, best DB in college football level before he’s done, too 10 draft pick potential. I’m glad they kept him a 5 star and should be higher than they put him but it don’t matter.

The kid is still the 20th ranked player in his class according to 247. That is 100% still a 1st round ranking and in the vicinity of being a future Heisman contender.

It’s just an age thing. A1 hasn’t even played his junior year in HS yet. If he goes out and dominates this fall as a junior, he’ll rise higher.
