Breaking: A’mir Sears Reclasses to C/O 2027

Miami, FL. - The Best in the Nation has made a massive decision.

Earlier this afternoon, 24/7 Sports announced that Christopher Columbus High’s two way star A’mir “A1” Sears will be RE CLASSIFYING from the C/O 2028 to 2027.

Sears, a 6 foot 1 dual threat phenomenon is rated as the #1 recruit in the country by 24/7. Holding 47 Division I Offers, Sears is one of the most sought after recruits in the country, with the Miami Hurricanes hot on the trail.

Last season with West Broward, A’mir recorded 42 catches for 942 yards and 11 touchdowns offensively, alongside 61 tackles, 11 pass breakups, 3 interceptions and a sack on defense.

Sears’ dual threat versatility helped spark the Bobcats into an unlikely Cinderella run, as West Broward would go 12-3 including a trip to the FHSAA Class 6A State Final, where they’d unfortunately fall 31-0 to the back-to-back-champs West Boca Bulls. Before the loss in the State title game, West Broward would win 12 straight with their only regular season losses coming in September.

Confirmed by 24/7’s Tom Loy, A’mir will be announcing his commitment this Friday, July 31 at 5:00 PM EST. Sears’ commitment will be broadcasted via 24/7 Sports and CBS.

Front runners in A’mir Sears’ recruitment include Miami, Texas A&M, LSU, Florida and Syracuse.

Miami currently sits with the #4 recruiting class in the country, per 24/7, and Sears can pair nicely with other hometown stars including 5-Star WR Nick Lennear and 4-Star S Jaylyn Jones.

We have 5 high-level power 4 starting corners on the roster this year, and we somehow convinced them all to stay. Trust the staff

I don't think it necessarily means guys will leave. You always have injuries and some of the personnel we play against go heavy WRs, so we will need them. Also, not all kids coming in as DBs are where they need to be physically. But who knows, I think we lose 3 next year to draft, with OJ, Damari Brown, and Lucas.

I wonder if we land him does it hurt next years cbs? Having to go against the top two cbs in 2027 . You ask some people on this board they’ll say it’s the excuse we made for golden on misses. Between this year and last it’s loaded . We get one big time cb next year I could see why others are hesitant unless you’re that good .

Who cares! The kid is legit and that’s all that matters. If we take one less or kids leave it’s part of the game. With how quickly today’s kids run away from challenges I would say it doesn’t matter

Oh I don’t at all just taking a shot at some on the jacobs comments ! If someone is loaded at a position and they already have a top 5 star De in this class it could be a factor . Some don’t like real competition .

All these local stars were waiting for an excuse to come to the U. I feel like the ascension of Malachi Toney is what burst the dam. The mother of all proofs-of-concept. Elite recruiters who can now back it up with freshmen all-Americans and playoff runs.

You think this kid is going to come in and start over OJ or Xavier Lucas? Not a chance. Those guys have NFL ready bodies and our top tier cornerbacks with NFL futures. With us bringing in five-star Dante wright he might not even be the best corner in the class. Now that is a beautiful thing to be able to say with a straight face. Go Canes!

I’ll say this and you’re correct by the way. This group of kids is rare. They are all different and are coming to work. They are all close.

1 or both of those guys will likely be gone after this year.
