247 had sears as the #1 player in 28 so the #1 player in next year class is only the 20th best in this years? He will probably rise during the season but their logic is flawed
If the rating materially weighs likely first year contribution, I would understand. But from my understanding, the rating is based on skill, size, and ultimate potential at college level. In that case, very little justification for dropping the top ‘28 player outside top ten of ‘27.
I think its based on they fully scouted the older players over a longer period of time in different settings (games, camps, etc.) and feel more confident in those evaluations which I think makes sense. Nothing wrong as he is still a 5 star, they value the kid highly
and now, we have the clear backing from the top down, we have upgraded facilities, we have the NIL infrastructure in place, etc.

What i still want to know is if this is a true reclassification or was A’mir older for his grade? No shade either way bcuz he is the elite of the elite but it does change the calculus of what to expect if he will be early enrolling at age 16 versus 18

Loy was just saying yesterday that he thinks he is special and can be in the heisman convo one day and a future 1st round pick. Said he thinks sears is ready to play in college now. But yea he is still ranked high and I think when it’s all set and done he will be top 10
