Is Muhammad a guy that can come in next year and play? Or will it be a couple years till he contributes?

The DE is not something people typically come in right and way and play especially when they don't EE.

With that being said, here is who he is competing with

1. Shayon Green
2. Chick
3. McCord
4. Hamilton
5. Hoilett
6. R. Williams
7. O'Donnell
8. Cain (is he still here)
9. Terry

A lot of unproven players, some kids that have a bunch of potential and some JAGs...the time is there, it is not like both spots are 100% locked up.

And I agree, I don't see him playing next year. If he's not in the top 4, rs him. And I know the incoming kids are always better than the guys already here, but, I assume in addition to green, bond, chick, one or 2 of the young kids will emerge.

On that list he immediately moves to #3, while I would hope a guy like shayon moves down as the season moves on. Chick and McCord ahead. At miami he plays immediately, for better or worse

As long as we keep Burns and Carter and get Mathew Thomas....very nice defensive recruiting class

Yep, the incoming recruits immediately become better than the prior recruits and guys on the team.

This kid can play next year, did you see out DE's last year. They never got to the QB. Smh

And I haven't seen Terry and Hamilton and hoilett or any of the other guys after another year in utough. Again, unless he's in the top 4, I'd rather see him redshirt.

It really all depends on guys like Hoilett, Rico etc.

If Muhammed came in last year he would have played a ton but we shouldn't have that issue this year especially if Bond shows something too.

I think he will be plenty capable of making an impact though.

20 snaps a game by the end of the year if true. I will believe it when I see it. Different position, but it would reduce some of the sting off a loss of Bryant.

Is there really any reason for the condescension?

As opposed to saying the inflammatory post that you said above, why not just list who you think he is and isn't better than.

He may not be a starter, but I don't see how a guy like Bond has a significant advantage over him. Isn't AQM bigger?

I'm just if the wait and see attitude. I'm always a little skeptical of incoming hs kid immediately being better than guys who are here already. Not saying he cant contribute next year. Just gonna wait and see if guys like Hamilton, Williams, hoilett, Terry etc make a jump.
And if he isn't in the top 4, would hate to see him waste a year on a few snaps.

All things being equal (size, speed etc.) the guy EE and is older [Bond] usually has the advantage over the true freshman [AQM]. The thing is nothing is equal and no time is guaranteed at DE next season. A freshman has as much change as a Rd-Sr to play.

If AQM is legit and willing to work, he will get burn early...a lot of burn.

I think the real comparison that people are going to have to make is between AQM and Figueroa. I think those two are going to battle it out for snaps and whoever is the odd man out, will shirt.

Regardless of what anyone says here, the answer is we won't know until fall camp. Plenty of high impact can't miss kids have flopped, and many kids have come out of nowhere (Lewis, Moss) as true freshman to contribute big. Gotta get 'em in.

Where are you getting "significant advantage" from?

I don't see why being older is a *significant* advantage. If he were older and weighed more and had a MUCH deeper understanding of what we're trying to do (schematically), I'd concede.

I tend to agree with you that there won't be very much of an advantage. If Bond plays a lot more than AQM, it's because he beat him out on effectiveness.
