I do not want 200 lbs linebackers period. When they add weight most of the time they lose quickness 9 out of 10 times. Bring me 220+ or 215 that can run.

I generally agree. Keontra Smith was exhibit A. Kid looked slow as molasses when he added weight. But there are definitely exceptions, Beason being ours. If Hetherman can’t find those then he’s not the guy I thought he was.

If your response was this then my work here is done. You completely ignored losing by 4 touchdowns in the playoffs being acceptable 😂

GT literally beat the SEC champions and got shafted out of the game by refs who would not let Georgia lose. Sounds like a decent team to me but **** what do I know 🤷‍♂️
1.) They literally didn’t. All that refs **** is for losers. They lost.

2.) Had we made it to the playoffs like we should have, things would be a lot better around here. Instead, we didn’t with the best player in CFB and you guys have to draw up hypothetical scenarios to play mental gymnastics to try to justify ****.

I remember Darron Lee was 6'1 205 heading to OSU (top weight 235 never lost a step ....we are talking a junior with time to add more size before stepping on campus....top notch verified testing 4.57 40 4.22 shuttle ( film) proves he's athletic enough to easily cover the flats...a trait we desperately need to add....y'all get happy about size without understanding the necessary speed it takes to be elite...

Impossible to predict if someone will move the same with added weight. Pause

Hardest hitter at my HS was 5'9 175 lol he also got hurt 2 years in a row for hitting like that and just not being big. I know dude is 200 pounds which is small sure he will get bigger 220-230 range. I like the speed numbers an Heatherman taking a Rurgers Greg Schiano recruit i trust. We'll see wlcome to the U!
I hear ya I played ball with Bob Sanders. Not a mfer on the planet hit like him and he was 5-8 max

Let’s see where’s he’s at in another year or two-

Great speed but, needs size and development-

Edgewater has produced some really good players the last few years starting with Cedric Baxter who’s really from Boynton Beach.

Hence why I'm okay with Hetherman taking flyers on a few. As long as he's stacking talent, we can afford to take some risks.

Our recruiting failures the last couple decades weren't primarily due to taking the wrong body types -- we benefited greatly from guys like Bevin Jordan, Jaquan Johnson, Sean Spence, Corn Elder, X, etc. Our biggest failure by far has been that we land a couple blue chippers at a position and assume we were good, then when they fail we are left with no depth.

Keep stacking like we're finally doing at DE, OL and DB, and I have zero issues with taking a Edwards type on the hope he adds 25 lbs. between the summer before his senior year in HS and Game 1 of his second year at Miami (i.e. 2+ years).

What could have been with that dude
He got too big (pause)

Literally one of the most humble nicest dudes I’ve ever met and was absolutely terrifying on the field. He came back to our hometown while he was in the NFL. We were waiting to get in a club and they wouldn’t let him in because he didn’t have ID. He was on billboards in town and **** and he’s like no guys don’t make a big deal about this it’s my fault. He was that type of guy.

I don’t know if he got into PEDs he was always jacked but his frame was pretty small and he was just super hero muscular. Things started snapping like rubber bands. Snapping a bicep is usually a red flag sign of PED use but who knows

I think a lot of guys took stuff back then. Some just respond differently than others.

Thankfully, our coaches seem to know better.

They did exactly what you asked and dropped Vincent Shavers for the 20-25 lbs heavier Adarius Hayes. That is looking really dumb now. So I'm glad they're prioritizing speed.

If a LB isn't athletic enough to play in space, he's useless. It's not 2001 anymore

No one knew Hayes would get into an accident though, never can predict that

He will not play LB for Miami, he will play the big nickel position, same as Cam Pruitt. Hetherman likes the big nickel to be between 6-0 to 6-2 around 200 - 215 with speed, ability to play the run, rush the passer, and be decent in coverage. This kid checks all of those boxes.
