I agree with you that his video shows a lot of grabbing and throwing guys down. But look at the plays where he met the RB in the hole. He was sending them backwards.
I also think poor tackling is a statement about technique which can certainly be taught at the college level. I think he has the athleticism to make it work.

That’s one….And he went from a, what 38th ranked, to 34th ranked qb. Not sure I would characterize that as a “riser” in this context.
Pruitt is the perfect recent example. Smaller guy, but he was squaring up and knocking bigger dudes back all over his tape.

2025 all 3 WR were 4 stars. The LB, was 1/2.
2024 all 3 WR were 4 stars. The LB was 2/2 four stars
So we are 6/6 at WR and 3/4 at LB. I’m no mathematician, but that’s 90% blue chip at those positions.
One thing I love about defensive players is when they need to gain height, weight, and speed before stepping on campus.
