Exception, meet rule. And it isn't just about size. Smaller LBs are fine, when they square up their pads and thump in HS. Smaller LB who want to rugby tackle all day....
I agree with you that his video shows a lot of grabbing and throwing guys down. But look at the plays where he met the RB in the hole. He was sending them backwards.

I also think poor tackling is a statement about technique which can certainly be taught at the college level. I think he has the athleticism to make it work.

Can you give an example or two.

What difference does it make? I mean idc about rankings. But a riser is someone who has got better vs peaked early in hs. I’d rather a bunch of players that have gotten better throuhg senior year, especially vs the rest of their class, than not.

But you do you.
Emory Williams after Elite 11 performance.

I counted 2 of those in ~4 minutes. It is only going to get harder against P4 comp.

I'm not talking about poor technique. I'm talking about a lack of power behind his pads.

Agreed. Take an undersized kid like Cam Pruitt who ******* decleats people when he hits them. Big difference. Not down on this kid specifically I don’t know enough about him

One thing I love about defensive players is when they need to gain height, weight, and speed before stepping on campus.
I’m just being devils advocate here, don’t they all need to gain weight? And get faster.

The top LB in the country is listed at 200. 2 in the top 15 are listed at 220 or more.
This kid also ran a good 40 and shuttle time. Where are you seizing he has a speed limitation?

Not entirely sure. What does Rhett Lashlee make?
Idk what Lashlee makes. maybe someone like @htownkidd knows or has a good idea?

Though I believe (not entirely sure) his previous deal was around $4M and that was before SMU even joined the ACC, and before just getting a new contract from SMU after this past season ended. Id expect $6M maybe?

But it's good to know you'd prefer to be a what fringe Top 30 program at best when it comes to HC pay? I'll take Mario and the extra NIL commitment that he brings to the table.
