Michael Jackson-Kerr DB from Alabama committed-unconfirmed

Like the pick up.
From a powerhouse program

+ size

Versatility

Fits a need at the Boundary corner spot..since we are obviously not getting any of the Davis's and the kid from DC might be a tough pull.

I welcome the kid......I'm not big on Hoggins so it doesnt bother me...i like Fenton though...carol city kids produce for us. Redwine seems to be a take imo as well...

Go, I wouldn't call Spain Park a powerhouse program. It is a good program, though.

He wanted to wait unti Jan 10, 2015 to annouce his choice on his bday but Miami staffers must have pressed him to commit now in order to stave off the bad news of the recent decommitments and potential misses in recruiting.

Here is the article about him wanting to Wait on committing to a school.
http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2014/06/spain_park_db_michael_jackson.html

He was waiting for Akron and Southern Miss to produce hats so he could throw them on the floor. Couldn't even find hats for 3 of his top 5 on lids.com.

sticking to strictly "miami" kids is lazy and poor management of recruiting. just saying.

It's so stupid and short sighted, most of these same people were talking this garbage about Courtel Jenkins too.

Now he's out best defensive tackle as a true freshman.

They NEEDED a boundary corner in the class. The other candidates for that position aren't making decisions until January/February (The Davis's, Marcus Lewis, etc.)

Gunter is a Senior
Burns could be gone next year

Which leaves you with Ryan Mayes as your only boundary corner on the roster. This kid isn't some scrub off the scrap heap. On first glance, he looks to have solid tools.

This thread is simply an exercise in frustration and stupidity.

Agree 100%. The roster goes beyond the starters and you need depth guys and special teamers too....Great post!

they are making a mockery of our school! This has gone too far! We have to fire Al et al immediately. The Admin must be saying to themselves, WHO? Wouldn't they ask Al why this intramural 3* when there are many quality DB's in Dade alone! What's his fascination with size? If you ain't ****, you aint **** regardless of size. Al is practicing football theory not reality. No way you can look at this kid and say he's a baller! They are driving me insane!

Colleges have neither stopped nor gotten enough of Michael Jackson.

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound defensive back from Spain Park High School picked up his first offer from a Southeastern Conference school last week. In fact, both LSU and Georgia offered him a scholarship on the same day.

"It was real surprising," Jackson says. "You don't expect those two to be your first SEC offers. It was real eye-opening."

The staff is clearly chosing kids who know how to play complex coverages over the raw talent.

Instead of changing their scheme to fit elite athletes, they are recruiting lesser athletes who understand their system. We are beyond ****ed.

This has to be a **** joke. Hoggins is absolutely dominating and deserves an offer..... And we get this kid. **** you ***

Hoggins and Jackson-Kerr are very different types of players. Hoggins is a short DB, Jackson-Kerr is a tall DB, which is of increasing importance as WRs keep getting taller. It's also amusing that people point to Jackson-Kerr's offer list and lack of many other major program offers as proof that he's mediocre, but then refer to Hoggins as a dominating, amazing DB when his offer list is equivalent.

He's from South Florida...none of that matters anymore

Does Mike jack have 13 ints?

These are the same porsters who crying when we took a commitment from a QB out of Cali before any Cali schooled had offered him.

Kaaya committed in May that year. That was coming off a junior season where he didn't even begin that season as the starter. He was an unknown.

This guy is smack dab in the middle of SEC country and committed to us in late October.

There are no parallels here. Kaaya was under the radar with half a season to his name. This kid is overlooked cuz he's garbage.

In addition to this, anyone who saw the kaaya tape was estatic about the commit.

Not so sure about that. There were plenty of Treon slurpers around here.

^--Yep, too lazy to bump the thread but a decent number of people questioning arm strength, complaining about a Cali qb, etc... after seeing tape
