Nobody is ever allowed to have their own opinion on this board.
Just always gotta go with group-think hivemind.
Making ridiculous lists then accusing anyone who disagrees as hivemind is crazy

No my list is based on what I've seen from those teams thus far this season. No, your list is just your bias in being a huge Kiffin and Riley supporter shining through.. There's absolutely nothing in USC's resume to have them in any conversations of top 5.
Doesn't it matter who the opponent is who takes said team to the wire? Ole Miss was taken to the wire at home by a Washington State team that lost by 49 to North Texas and 35 to Washington. Georgia Tech would have a loss if the ACC didn't have useless officiating to see an obvious offsides penalty against Wake Forest. Tennessee has a loss. USC has a loss. Are these predictions for the end of the year or as of today's date?Name one team that hasn't been taken to the wire this year?
How is it ridiculous if it's my list based on different criteria than yours?Making ridiculous lists then accusing anyone who disagrees as hivemind is crazy
It's an interesting list. I think people are making too much of the Ole Miss game today. They won; who cares? They're in my top 5. Tennessee's defense stinks don't think they are top 5.Nobody is ever allowed to have their own opinion on this board.

There's not a definitive argument for any team to be the resounding #1 being that every team in the Nation has had close games, so what exactly separates one from another?
I disagree with most of yall's list, have I attacked any of yall the way yall have to me?
It does if it's based on the transitive property fallacy.Doesn't it matter who the opponent is who takes said team to the wire? If it wasn’t yall wouldn't be coming at me the way yall are. It's not that serious
Bruh this is 2025. Group think is the only thing allowed. My list is a power ranking based on the games I've seen not just purely on resume.
But that's my opinion, it doesn't have to be the same as yours.
Im firmly in the critical thinking over the mindless mob thinkBruh this is 2025. Group think is the only thing allowed.
It's college football. It's all picked based on the "look" test and it's based on the cumulative rankings of multiple people. Kinda has to be with 136 teams and only 12 game regular season. With each playing varying numbers of home games, varying numbers of road games, varying numbers against P4 teams, etc.It does if it's based on the transitive property fallacy.
Miami was taken to the wire by a Notre Dame team that has loss to TAMU, does that mean that TAMU is better than Miami? Maybe, maybe not. There's no way to definitively know that unless they play each other.
Just because one team may have played another team close, doesn't mean another team will play that same team close.
Every week is a one-off; Some weeks teams play their best ball & some weeks they don't.
I have a hard time putting Ole Miss up that high after today. It's an interesting list. I think people are making too much of the Ole Miss game today. They won; who cares? They're in my top 5. Tennessee's defense stinks don't think they are top 5.
I got:
1. OSU
2. Miami
3 Ole Miss/TAMU
5 USC/ND winner
Then IU/TTU. I can't be a believer in GTech till they beat UGA, cause of their schedule.
Ohio ST, the team that everyone thinks is in the top 2, had a down to the wire game with Texas, only winning 14-7.It's college football. It's all picked based on the "look" test and it's based on the cumulative rankings of multiple people. Kinda has to be with 136 teams and only 12 game regular season. With each playing varying numbers of home games, varying numbers of road games, varying numbers against P4 teams, etc.
Agreed, some play their best ball some weeks and not others. Does the top team in the nation, even on its worst day, eke out a 3 point win at home against Washington State who has 2 losses of 35 points or more (1 to a G5 team)? You are saying yes. I disagree. No biggie. It would be interesting to see where the majority lies.
Good job though making it an interesting thread. Although, I think that was your purpose more so than an actual listing of your true top 5.![]()
