Your Top 5 teams in America right now

I have a hard time putting Ole Miss up that high after today.
I mean that's fair. They played an awful game. I just don't think it matters. They were coming off a bye with UGA next week. Huge trap game. I think they handle UGA.

My updated top 5:

1. Ole Miss
2. GA Tech
3. Miami
4. USC
5. Texas Tech/Tennessee
Maiava has been way better than I ever expected. He’s taken a huge leap from last year. I can see why Mario wanted him.

Your list on the teams. I would say USC Top 15, however.

Georgia Tech - watching that offense gives me the biggest of headaches. They are good, though.

Ohio ST, the team that everyone thinks is in the top 2, had a down to the wire game with Texas, only winning 14-7.

That same Texas team that lost to Florida; does that mean Florida is better than Oh ST or would beat them?

Again... Transitive property doesn't work in CFB.
Again, I call it the "look test", you call it the "transitive property", whatever you want to call it, it's all we have as there are too many teams, too few games, and non-uniformity in scheduling so it can't be determined on the field unfortunately. It's why there is a playoff committee, why there are multiple votes for rankings, etc.

And frankly, looking at your ranking, wins and losses must not work in college football either, but like I said, great job being the contrarian and making an interesting convo.

I still have serious questions about the quality of football being played outside of the southeast. How good was Oregon, really?
Oregon wasn't very good. Never understood the hype surrounding them. Not impressive on offense, a young QB that basically epitomizes everything that's wrong with the QB position and defense is kinda meh.

When you get bullied by Indiana upfront and your LBs cannot make a tackle, you maybe went wrong in the recruiting department.

Canes are #1. Its all based in execution then matchups. And i think we are the only team that can matchup v OHIO. We have a NFL OL, probably better than some to be honest. And also a DB group size wise that matches up against their strength. They would still get yards but not go crazy.

Miami, Ohio, Texas A&M, Indiana, ND.

I wouldn't neccessarily say the Texas game is Ohio sts strongest resume point though that they are entirely reliant on. Even though I will say while the game was "close" I didn't feel they were ever really at risk of losing that game. And while their offense also was getting stopped it felt like they were just being super conservative with their 1st time starting QB. Plus Texas has allowed like 4th fewest poiints this season. And the rest of their opponents haven't really slowed them down. Their road wins against Washington and Illinois were easy/smooth wins where it was never really in doubt from the opening. Those are 2 good wins - I mean Illinois beat USC. And that wasn't some fluke or anything. Ohio st is just cruising to wins easily based on defense. And their offense has done what they've had to without too much struggle. Now I will say the confidence wouldn't be super high for them to maybe compete in a shootout if they had to if their defense isn't playing at their elite level like they have been. But at the end of the day they have 2 great WRs. Also legit UCLA is probably the 2nd most difficult game remaining on their schedule too, so zero shot they lose more than 1 regular season game. I'd absolutely pick Ohio st to beat USC right now. I wont believe USC can beat a physical team with a good offense until they actually do it for once. USC honestly really just blew the Illinois game. Idk how you can look at that game and be like yeah this team will beat Ohio St, Miami, Indiana, or like a Texas Tech...**** even like a Missouri, etc to beat them. idk I believe in their offense 100%, definite top 3 if not outright #1 in the country right now, but no way I'd trust them today. But the good thing is they play @ ND next, so we will see how they compare to us and A&M I guess. This domination of Michigan was probably their most impressive win in a while though, so maybe they beat ND.

And like you were just saying Miami won close against ND. Like TECHNICALLY we won close against FSU too... But we clearly dominated that game. We didn't dominate the ND game nearly as much as UF&FSU, but we never actually felt like we were losing or going to lose. But like the ND game vs A&M was clearly a closer "toss up" like game than our game against them, I actually think ND was better most of the entire first half against them. Though that was at home for them.

As for GTech, well I legit think they lose to Duke this week. Ole Miss I'm not fully on board. I think they end up dropping a game or two. But they have a good resume. But they haven't been all that impressive in their wins. Like their close wins have been Legit close wins whereas ours really havent imo.

Ole Miss, idk, I'm more inclined to think this was just a really bad game that was more of a trap game. But they were really bad.
