If this were a business, and if the hire is approached as a business, no more BS hires.

1. Butch would love to come back - he knows exactly what he can do here.

2. Butch meets Miami needs, and being the rich recruitment center UM is, the University meets Butch's needs.

3. Butch has program building credibility, and at NC, he did much the same thing with the talent he brought in and developed. They were kicking OUR asses.

4. He's proven as a talent evaluator - putting together the greatest college team ever assembled, he's already brought Miami back from the ashes to a NC, he's proven able to assemble a top staff (no more best friend incompetents), and Butch is certainly a top recruiter.

5. The timing is right. We'll either get Butch, or likely play against him. And Butch beats our ***.

Butch never screwed Miami. The U screwed the U, screwed Butch, and they continue to ***** the team and the fans.

Get Butch, and then the Administration won't have to worry about the goddam football team. Nor will we.

Business decision. Proven, credible, track record.

Solid.

Miami cannot match KY's money for Mark Stoops.

I think they're paid pretty close to the same right now, but if Stoops wins a bowl game, they'll probably throw plenty of cash at him.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I think we have a decent shot if we move in the next year or so.

LULZ. The sophomoric approach in here cracks me up. Kentucky is not a destination job. Stoops took that job with the idea of getting to 8 wins and being hailed as genius (sound familiar?) and then moving from that toilet program to a real destination job.

Back to back to back D1 national champ HC, 13-1 in the playoffs, 100-30 career record, runs the Miami 4-3 with incredibly aggressive swarming defense, runs pro style offense. Came up under Osbourne and won 2 titles as LBs coach in the 90s, and was DC for their 2001 team that we beat. Super intense bald prick.

That dude knows how to coach and how to win.

No. But that doesn't mean its not pretty much widely believed that he turned a blind eye to sh8t. He also had the John Blake fiasco on his watch. That was two bad black eyes in his time at UNC.

Perception is reality. Butch is TAINTED from that UNC mess. And UM is on probation, and just finished one of the longest, and ugliest NCAA witch hunts in its history, where we actually had the media calling for the death penalty again for us, when it first broke. There is ZERO chance Shalala will hire Butch back here.

The fact is that Butch has a reputation for being two faced. Apart from all the public stuff, there are little things that have been around a long time that rub people the wrong way about him. People forget that he supposedly negatively recruited against Randy pretty hard when Shannon was here. Wether it was fair or not, Im sure that didn't endear him to the administration in the least bit. The guy just damaged his ties here too much the way he handled things, and then the Academic Scandal, plus the John Blake thing, topped off with the fact that UM is HYPERSENTITIVE right now about anything even perceived to be shady, makes Butch untouchable.
