Your Coaching Wishlist for 2015

I would want Pruitt seeing has he came from Alabama and learned under Saban, runs an aggressive defense all Saban. The man just KNOWS how to recruit in any state Florida, or anywhere. For example he's the main reason why Jalen Ramesy picked FSU b/c of Pruitt and was also one of the reasons why FSU landed some of their players in there 2013 class, and he was a great recruiter for Alabama. Plus players love playing for him as well as him being a young coach and out to prove a point. If not Pruitt I'd want Chad Morris these Florida cats like Dion Cain or Ray Ray McCloud would love playing for a Chad Morris offense, Clemson does having a good enough defense that does develop players like Vic Beasley and a few of the corners that got drafted. These may be pipe dreams but either Kirby Smart or the LSU defense coordinator.

Yes let's hire a guy to run a doormat program thats on it's death bed after TWO SEASONS at the coordinator level.

I seriously cannot comprehend how people don't see what obviously bad choices for THIS SCHOOL are.

Yes he's been a coordinator for two seasons but he's was the DB coach at Alabama for a few seasons and I'm sure he has learned a few things from Saban, Fisher and Mark this year. As well he's made a adjustments for being new to coordinator with FSU's defense that Golden hasn't made. People talk about Ice being the Head Coach and the highest he's coached has been high school football prior to this year. Pruitt coached high school football and has proven he can coach at this level.

Chad Morris is the best pick. He knows the area. Those guys from Michigan st. I don't think they can recruit south Florida well. Is anybody on MSU from south Florida? I know the RB from STA went there.

Morris' offense is a good fit for the athletes.

Gentlemen, reality.

The same guys who were criticizing a handful of us for our long-running criticism of the coaching staff over the past two years are suddenly coming up with coaching alternatives.

This next hire MUST be a sure thing to rebuild the program. No guessing, not a coach with a flash here and a flash there. We MUST get this next hire right.

1. Reality.

The reality is that Miami has a limited budget. The reality is that many of those mentioned are not interested in Miami, or Miami is not interested in them.

2. Need meets Need.

The coach must want to coach at Miami, he must meet the unique needs of Miami, and Miami must provide the needs of the coach. Miami met the financial/opportunity needs of Golden, but Golden did not meet the unique needs of Miami. This mistake cannot be made again. Not four in a row.

3. Credibility.

Credibility is rare as it is aggregated over time, over great difficulties, and credibility is what any good hire must have. Golden had the right words, he spoke well, he had a binder which showed organization, but Golden, like many of the choices put forward in this thread - didn't have real credibility.

4. Proven Skills.

Proven talent evaluator. Proven program builder. Proven talent developer. Proven ability to assemble a National Championship team. Proven ability to assemble top staff. Unequaled recruiter.

Most of those mentioned here have some of these abilities in short bursts - some - but it's much better to have all of these abilities as this minimizes your hiring risk.

5. Timing.

Sometimes a coach that's available, at the right price, with credibility, proven skills, and where needs meet needs are negated because the timing aspect is not available by one party or the other. We need to nail down a coach BEFORE the end of the season for recruiting continuity and improvement.

Mike Shula

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Shula

Mike Shula (born June 3, 1965) is an American football coach who is currently the offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). Shula has been with the Panthers since 2011, when he was hired as their quarterbacks coach. He was promoted to offensive coordinator after Rob Chudzinski was hired to be the head coach of the Cleveland Browns. Shula served as the head football coach at the University of Alabama, his alma mater, for four seasons, from 2003 to 2006.

On January 25, 2007, the Jacksonville Jaguars named Shula their quarterbacks coach.[12] Shula oversaw quarterback David Garrard’s development from becoming a full-time starter in 2007 to making the Pro Bowl in 2009. In Shula’s first year with the Jaguars, Garrard ranked third in the NFL with a 102.2 passer rating – an almost 23-point improvement from the previous season – threw an NFL-low three interceptions and established a team record with a 64.0 completion percentage.

On January 21, 2011 the Carolina Panthers named Shula as their quarterbacks coach. In 2011, Shula helped quarterback Cam Newton earn Associated Press Offensive Rookie of the Year after turning in one of the most prolific rookie seasons in NFL history, passing for 4,051 yards and accounting for 35 total touchdowns. In 2012, under Shula's tutelage, Newton improved on his Rookie-of-the-Year quarterback rating from 2011 with an 86.2 mark while rushing for more than 700 yards for a second straight season. Newton's 7,920 passing yards from 2011-12 surpassed the previous mark for a player’s first two seasons held by Peyton Manning.

Because I'm not a dumbass.

If this were a business, and if the hire is approached as a business, no more BS hires.

1. Butch would love to come back - he knows exactly what he can do here.

2. Butch meets Miami needs, and being the rich recruitment center UM is, the University meets Butch's needs.

3. Butch has program building credibility, and at NC, he did much the same thing with the talent he brought in and developed. They were kicking OUR asses.

4. He's proven as a talent evaluator - putting together the greatest college team ever assembled, he's already brought Miami back from the ashes to a NC, he's proven able to assemble a top staff (no more best friend incompetents), and Butch is certainly a top recruiter.

5. The timing is right. We'll either get Butch, or likely play against him. And Butch beats our ***.

Butch never screwed Miami. The U screwed the U, screwed Butch, and they continue to ***** the team and the fans.

Get Butch, and then the Administration won't have to worry about the goddam football team. Nor will we.

Business decision. Proven, credible, track record.

So you think an Administration that is trying to boost its Academic reputation is going to hire a coach who is tied to an academic scandal at a fellow ACC school???? Not to mention what happened when Butch left. There is NO way UM considers Butch Davis. Lets talk REALISTIC candidates.

Hey! Genius!

Find and demonstrate any NCAA findings of Butch doing ANYTHING wrong!

And you may want to reverse your outright ignorance on what happened that prompted Butch to leave! ****! You heard something, and repeated enough, you what? Start to believe it?? Same dumbass-ness that has been slurping up Golden the past three years in spite of clear evidence and statistics that indicated otherwise.

Show us the NCAA findings that found Butch in any manner connected to the Academic problem at UNC!

Put it up or shut up about it! That's a damned lie!

And put your ignorance aside on Butch's contract buyout negotiations with UM, and how they screwed him royally!

I don't think its that unrealistic. He wouldn't be hired to be the Provost.

You REALLY believe butch didn't know something was going on?? It was widespread on that campus. Roy didn't know either?? Regardless, Donna isn't hiring butch no matter how many fans on a message board want it to be so. You are either ignorant or naïve if you believe otherwise.
